I don't see a hadoken subclass feature on the monk.

The fact that a Fighting Game style monk or fighter subclass is missing makes me sad.

You can sort of pull of a grappler like Zangief with the Grapper Open Palm monk but....

Here are the current obstacles.

Monk subclasses don't allow design space much without  burning precious Ki

Fighter subclasses allows design space but is missing so many key features (Martial arts and Unarmored defense for a few)

No boxing in D&D again.

So what kind of mechanics are we talking about?

Comboing: getting accuracy bonus when you hit an enemy already that turn

Punishing: Reaction attacks when enemies miss.

Canceling: Spending resources to deal additional damage on a hit

Heavy/Light attacks: The ability to quickly switch between fast/inaccurate low damage attacks and slow/accurate high damage attacks

Jumping/Crouching attacks: Benefits for melee attacking after a jump or while prone.

Chip....  let's not get into that.

So... would you be interested?

Yes, gotta love Hadoken! I wonder if some sort of Multiclassing could help here? Or reflavoring of the Elemental monk.

Fist of Unbroken Air.

You can create a blast of
compressed air that strikes like a mighty fist. As an
action, you can spend 2 ki points and choose a creature
within 30 feet o f you. That creature must make a
Strength saving throw. On a failed save, the creature
takes 3 d 10 bludgeoning damage, plus an extra 1d10
bludgeoning damage for each additional ki point you
spend, and you can push the creature up to 20 feet away
from you and knock it prone. On a successful save, the
creature takes half as much damage, and you don’t push
it or knock it prone.

Flames of the Phoenix.  There's no significant difference between a Hadouken and a fireball.

Not the same I agree, but you COULD just throw a dagger, describe it as a burst of fire from your hand, and roll your unarmed damage die...

Tournament Warrior
When you hit an enemy with a one handed melee weapon or unarmed strike, you have advantage on your next melee weapon attack against that enemy until the end of that turn.
When an enemy misses a melee attack against you, you can as a reaction make a melee attack against that enemy.
You have advantage on melee attacks with two handed weapons if the target is not touching the ground.

I wonder what you can do with a reflavored warlock with the right feats.
