If you could change something class wise, what would it be? You only get 1 thing, so make it count.

Change? I would rename cleric to priest because I just like the sound of that word better, and that is seriously the only thing I would change.

...I should note, however, that I don't consider adding new subclasses to be changing something, and there are theoretically subclasses I would add (I say theoretically because I haven't actually settled on anything specific to add and thus have not yet proved that I actually would add something, I am just open to the possibility).

I would give Wild Magic Surge a mechanic that doesn't fall on the DM to decide whether to roll. Maybe 1% per spell level everytime you cast a 1st level or higher spell.

I'd make some pretty heavy adjustments to the possible effects of a surge as well, but that's a second thing.

Hexblade has to be a basic class, or a variant class, not a warlock subclass.

I had imagine the 5 warlock like a half-binder, each vestige would be like a mini-prestige class or cleric domain could be changed each day. There is a great potential for vestiges to create stories.

Shadow assasin, a stealth class with arcane spells, also to be a base class, not a rogue subclass.

The swashbuckler would be the 3.5 warblade from "Tome of Battle: book of nine swords".

I miss the vestige and the pact magic from 3.5 Tome of magic.

For incarnum and souldmelds I would give a second oportunity.

I imagine the psionic wilder like a mutant from X-men comics. I didn´t like the gameplay about psyhic enervation. Why not class features about "monster traits"? Something like points of mutation from d20 future, or points of dammation from the prestige class "debemonbinder" from 3.5 "Drow of the underdark". I like to imagine the favored soul like a variant sorcerer but each subclass would be a "bloodline", like a free mini- monster template (a subclass for half-fay, for half-celestial. for half-dragon..)

I imagine samurai, ninja and sohei like classes with "ki maneuvers" from "Tome of Battle: book of nine swords".

Why not the return of the factotum like a steath class with healer powers?

The psionic ardent has a great potential to create stories about hate-love relations with the clerics and another divine spellcaster classes.

I would make hunters makr a class feature, it sees to be so core to the operation of the class just like smites are for the paladin,

I'd give the sorcerer and warlock back some of the cool stuff they had in the playtest, like the sorcerer starting to change as he spent points (becoming more draconic, for instance), or the warlock gaining a minor negative effect from using her abilities (the example was becoming uglier).

I would make prestidigitation, thaumaturgy and druidcraft bonus catrips for their respective classes.

My own would be a general change to how many starting skills classes provide. I'd probably set it at 3 across the board. It'd be pick 2 (from class specific list), then pick any 1. Why? Because I've never liked (in any edition) that some classes provide more skills others.

I would set things up so that all classes got some form of swappable "subclass" features begining at level one so that when they introduce more subclasses concepts like psionic warrior, you can get that flavor/ability without having to wait multiple levels.

The biggest thing that bothers me about classes at the moment is the lack of a significant scaling pet as an option for certain classes (like ranger, warlock, or the conjuration school wizard), so my first instinct is to go with that, but the truth is that I'd just opt to go with this: more options for everyone.

More options pretty much covers every gripe that I have about classes.
