Am I the only one who saw the Hermit feature, Discovery, and immediately thought of a character who discovered the "fourth wall?"

Yes, you can play Red Mage in 5E.

It would pretty funny to have that player (in character as his PC), randomly turn to address the other players during play.

Assuming it's appropriate for the mood of the campaign, of course.

I had an idea for a hermit discover: the fuctioning of the universe is controlled by mystic polehedrons, the mightiest of which has twenty sides...

"A book might contain poetry, historical accounts, information pertaining to a particular field of lore, diagrams and notes on gnomish contraptions, or just about anything else that can be represented using text or pictures."

For 25 gp, your character can have his/her/its own copy of the Player's Handbook. Except for Chapter 10 - that's a Spellbook.

Yeah, last time I tried to do that in a game I got shot down. "Too meta."

Love it.... With characters like She Hulk and especially Deadpool breaking the fourth wall on a regular basis - it might fly in some campaigns for a character to do so as well - esp. if the other characters think hes a loon

Achieve CHIM, one of the six Walking Ways, relise you are in the dream and not the dreamer.

The ending of the words is ALMSIVI.

(Also don't mess it up or you'll probably end up binding your entire race to the skin of a metal god)
