Old-school D&D gamer. Began with D&D Basic years ago, then 2E. Skipped 3E and 4E. With the release of the PHB on August 19 will there be any opportunity to play the game (ie. will there be any module content on this site or otherwise?) before the rleease of the DMG and MM? Just wonder about other's experience with finding content during the months waiting for the full initial ruleset to release.

Well, there is the Phandelver adventure available now. And Horde of the Dragon Queen comes out at the same time as the PHB.

Here's SOME STUFF that is officially compatible with 5e (although it was released in various stages of the playtest, so the monsters may need some tweaking).

As mentioned there is the Starter Set adventure (very good I might add) and Hoard of the Dragon Queen is a large adventure being released at the same time as the PHB. Or your DM can just make up their own, everything is in the free basic rules and there are some monster stats in the Starter Set.

It's also pretty easy to convert older adventures for use with 5e.  Like, so easy that you could potentially do it on the fly.  All you really need to do is use the relevant 5e monster stats and check DCs in place of the ones in the adventure text.

There's also http://froggodgames.com/wizards-amulet. I haven't actually read or run it, but remember the 3.0 version which was my very first adventure in this edition.

Every thing you will need to play the basic version will be released sometime between the 8th and the 18th. You wont have to pay a dime. There is enough in the basic to go all the way to 20th lvl. If basic doesnt float your boat then 5th isnt for you. If you say basic is fun but I need more options than, you should check out the PHBand eventuallt the DMG which has been described as a hackers guide to 5th edition. Good luck and godspeed.
