The Fist of Kord requires attunement by someone who can cast at least one lightning and thunder spell. When you attack using shocking grasp you can add you casting or melee attack modifier to the damage as thunder damage. when you cast thunder clap you can add you 1/2 casting or melee attack modifier (rounded down)to the damage as lightning. You also cannot damage yourself with lightning or thunder abilities. No idea what rarity it should be. lemmy know what you think

What exactly is the Fist of Kord? A gauntlet?

First, I like it because its Kord, it's Greyhawk and its a god usually associated warriors, which is a nice change.  If it is a set of gauntlets, should it be "The Fists of Kord" ? I think it shoud be unique. It is very powerful, a legendary item.

I primarily intended to for storm sorcerers and tempest clerics, I forgot to add the part where you learn both those cantrips if you dont know them already. I wanted to make a way for these classes to be able to use the thematically correct cantrips over firebolts and regular weapon attacks. I also want it to be a single fist so that it can be wielded with a wand of the warmage to allow for the same kinds of benifits magic weapon users get. I was hoping to keep the rarity low so its more accessible to unlock this play style much earlier in the game. If this item was going to be legendary I would just let it add you casting modifier to all lightning and thunder damage you deal and have a daily cooldown that allows you to cast a lightning or thunder damage spell as a lvl 9 spell.

Well the idea of locking the abilities behinds charges can lower an item's rarity, by reducing the overall usefulness of the item. I would look at how wands of various rarity dictate the amount of charges on them to get an idea of how many to give. Also the last charge roll for breakage can also allow for a lower rarity, as it essentially takes one charge away unless absolutely needed to fire off that last shot.

Be careful about granting free cantrip use, as that could be worth a rarity increase. I would look at Bracers of Archery and the Staff of Striking to get an idea of the power to rarity balance, as it seems like you're wanting something that has similar mechanics as both items.
