I am thinking of running a conversion of Labyrinth of Madness (LoM) for 5E. What is LoM? It is a level 15+ megadungeon form 2E where the final big bad is a Titan who can cast clerical spells. The dungeon requires special magical passes in order to get through it. Encounters incluude things like 20 spectres (back then lose 2 levels if hit no save) and one of the nastiest D&D traps of all time involving a glyph of warding spells, power word kill and animating the corpse of the PC victim.
The power level of the editions is a bit different and level 15 PCs are kind of like level 20 AD&D PCs. I am thinking this means I can run the advenutre at level 10-12 to start with. Has anyone else run this advenutre or thought about it for 5E?
I'd say this adventure would challenge 20th level characters in 5e, it would be deadly for 15 or lower I think. We toned it down quite a bit and it still beat us up pretty badly. We knew it was gonna be tough so we all brought our heavy-hitters ('Thor' 
) and it still beat us up pretty good.
That first trap was devastating (but made us mad enough that we wanted to push on). A shaft with a ladder, the floor is a hundred feet below. Twenty feet down, a glyph of warding (inflicts high damage). Suffer at least 15 damage and you have to make a Str check (at neg 6) or fall, taking another 8d6 damage. When the PC hits the floor (and he will ), he suffers power word: kill (current hit points of 60 or less = dead). Zombie PC is then magically reanimated and levitated back up the shaft to attack the rest of the party.
Its been twenty years, and I remember that trap like yesterday. Magic was wonky, healing didn't always work right. Converting it is beyond my capability but if you give it a go, Zard, let me know. I'd love to see how it turns out .

I believe spoilers remain relevant no matter how much time has passed. Some things might be taken for granted (such as Darth Vadar being Luke's father) but not everyone has seen Star Wars, and those who have, some don't even like it. Blasphemy ! Its important to consider the audience I think.
In the case of Labyrinth of Madness: Yeah, it's an old module but with pdfs being available again, it's possible that someone could come upon the module much later than originally intended. Just like someone may pick up a copy of Star Wars on DVD for the first time. Today, it's prolly better known as 'A New Hope' but back in the day, it was just 'Star Wars'.
I remember when it started being referred to as A New Hope (I really took notice during the second trilogy). I wasn't sure what that was all about. For other people, it wasn't news. Similarly, for me, Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark is just 'Raiders of the Lost Ark'. I came upon these movies at a different time .
And Planet of the Apes is... no, I wil not spoil it!

Labyrinth of Madness did remind me of Tomb of Horrors, even though I'd only see that one played by others. Both had picture handouts.
I remember warped magic being a big wrinkle in Labyrinth. Guess that's been around since Undermountain but it was a first for me. Anyone make it through? Were these kinda adventures even designed to be completed? I mean with an ending and all ?
