I wonder if since the PHB is news this weekend (with the early release and all), that they aren't subtly directing attention that way. Once the excitment has passed, the Basic PDF might reappear on the front page (or somewhere else more prominent).
**** if I was wizards, I would try to get other sites to link up to the basic pdf. Get that **** out there. Wizards seems think smelling their own farts is a form of advertisement. They want new customers other than the ones we bring in they need to start actively trying to get them. All they are doing now is talking to a crowd that already knows about DND 5th edition.They may not be shooting themselves in the foot like they did with 4ths advetrisement, but they have not done one thing to bring in new players. They want to groew their audience they are going to have to spend some cash and work for it. Toys, tv shows, maybe a new cartoon, a movie that doesnt suck donkey bawls and actually has some production values. Any of these things could help grow the brand.
Yeah I've been on the edge of my seat waiting for that PDF update. I bought the PHB and Tyranny of Dragons. Love the books so much! But I'm running a campaign at the end of the month as my group's kick off 5th edition campaign and I've been waiting for the updated PDF so that I can get the monster stats and any useful DM info... I mean with Tyranny, the Boxed Set and the PHB I could just pull monsters from that I guess.
Gotta say though, I'm really happy I FINALLY have these books and the boxed set. So much fun!
The missing link bodes well though. Problem is they don't update the main page jn the evening anymore, so if they do put the link up we are probably waiting for it to happen in the day time ...
Wait about 12-15 hours from now is my totally non-empirically validated guess.
IDK what you guys are talking about, since the moment this forum was created I went to check and both links were there, and still are, for the same PDF version.
