Lost Mines of Phandelver - Factions (spoiler?)

So, looking through my just-bought Starter Set, I found the list of "Important NPCs."  Four of the nine NPCs are either members or agents of an organization. After, looking a few times, I can't seem to find any faction information within the adventure. Am I just missing it?

I don't know of any 5e timeline information to help you, but if you are new to the realms this site might help with stuff like that.  http://forgottenrealms.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page

 

I looked at the organized play site thinking they might have information of the new factions but I could not find any for you.
