Added today in the Features section: http://dnd.wizards.com/articles/features/excerpt-magic-items-table and the preview directly: http://media.wizards.com/2014/downloads/dnd/DMG_145.pdf

It gives us a few random tables with magic items showing some of the upper level non-artifact items (based on the fact that it has +2 and +3 ammunition, the higher end potions of X giant strength, and spell scrolls of 4th-9th level on them). Some old classics are noted in there (like the bag of devouring).

Using this preview and previous previews, plus content out already (supplements, adventures, Basic Rules, Starter Set, etc.) and by breaking up rings of resistance and spell scrolls into individual entries rather than the consolidated item entry in the books we now have 130 magic items and will likely have close to that much more once we have the DMG and can see every single magic item.

It looks like magic plus items (generic weapon, armor, ammunition) go from +1 to +3 in range so importing older items for the most part we have to halve their plusses and round up to get their 5e equivalent. Depending on the exact edition the item came from the division might be more than half but shouldn't be less than half (don't think any edition other than maybe 1st had less than +6 at highest level and even at +5 maximum you'd have +1/+2 = +1, +3/+4 = +2, +5 = +3.

I like that glue is in the same list as 8 and 9th level spells.

Even more mixed magic item tables.  Just like the old days (which, in and of itself, seems to be something I'm repeating a lot): "Ooh, table: wands!  Come on, Wand of Conjuration!  Wooo, yeah, come onnnnn....oh, dang, crapped out.   Enemy Detection."  "Come onnnn, 9th level spell scroll!  Gimme my lucky dice, I need a scroll of 9th level spells!  Come onn....oh, dang, crapped out.  Glue.'

I hope people don't think they actually have to roll on tables to doll out magic items. That's sad...Sure, sometimes a totally random treasure is fun...But seriously. Giving a +2 maul of embiggening to a party of rogues and wizards is just cruel.

But there will always be DM's who worship at the altar of Dice...I just won't play with them, lol.

I hope those magic item properties/quirks/etc tables from a later playtest make an appearence in the DMG. Those were awesome. I might still have them...I tried to save playtest docs for personal use/reference.

EDIT: Nolzur's Marvelous Pigments is wrong. White, Green, Blue and Red won't get you far. With paint, the minimum is: white, black, blue, yellow, red. Or white, black, cyan, magenta, and yellow. Assuming using the white of paper or canvas, you can get by w/o the white pigment...(Hence, CMYK printing)...RGB is for light, not pigments. I guess the illustrator doesn't remember his/her color theory from art school. For shame.

Hmm, there seems to be a few too many potions on those lists for my taste.

I like what the preview contains, from the illustrations to the mix of items on the various lists.

I've always been a fan of rollable charts of items to place in treasure - not because I actually roll and place whatever I roll, but because I like to deliberately place items and often find myself looking for suggestions (enter random rolls providing said suggestions).

I'm even happy to see that there are going to be numerous tiers of healing potion, but that items like the necklace of fireballs doesn't have type listed following them, which I hope means there is just the one type.

I think my position will be to roll randomly for all treasure and magic items. In my notes, I'll just have a little reference to chart or whatever and roll during the game (probably on a roll table in Roll20).

If players want to quest for specific items, they can say so and I'll create an adventure location where they can find 'em.

You know, were it not for the preview of the table of contents, one could think the DMG is nothing but magic items and artifacts... How about showing us something different?

Yeah, I'd like to see the monster building rules, and some rules options (specifically including, but not limited to, morale).

I doubt we'll see any actual rules (ie: monster building, spell building, etc.) They want us to all pre-order it now.

We'll see a few pages more of 1/2 text, 1/2 illustration, and nothing super useful or meaningful for running games. Remember the PHB preview pages? We saw some level progression charts for classes. But we never saw the guts of the class until we saw the book itself.

Looks clear now that stat buffs beyond 19 are going to be temporary potion enchants. Nicely handled. Interestingly enough, there don't seem to be potions for stats other than Strength.

Looks like a bow and its arrow can have separate magic bonuses. I hope they don't stack like in 3E, but overlap.

Also looks clear that the 2d4+2 healing potion in the PHB is not the roof on healing potions. It's interesting to think that the potion of supreme healing is listed in the same ranks as the potion that gives a 29 Str, or the scroll with wish on it, or the arrow that kills in one hit.

All in all, very nice. Hopefully, the rules for associating these treasure tables to monsters will be intuitive and quick.
