Medusa-Born: Ability Score Increase: Your Dexterity score increases by 2, and two other ability scores of your choice increase by 1. Age: Medusa-Born mature at the same rate humans do and reach adulthood around the age of 20. They live much longer than humans, however, often exceeding 180 years. Size: Medusa-Born are about the same size as humans, ranging from 5 to 6 feet tall. Your size is Medium. Speed: Your base walking speed is 30 feet. Darkvision: Thanks to your Medusa blood, you have superior vision in dark and dim conditions. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray. Medusa Gaze: As an action you can target a creature within 30 feet of you that you can see. That creature must make a Constitution saving throw against a DC of 8 + twice your Proficiency bonus or be Restrained for an hour. On a successful save the creature's speed is halfed for an hour. Once you use this ability it can not be used again until after a short or long rest. Skill Versatility: You gain proficiency in one skill of your choice. Languages: You can speak, read, and write Common and one extra language of your choice. |

They are "cursed" or blessed women with a different shape to defender and guard secret but sacred places. Jailer and prison at same time. Maybe a medusa was loved by a cobra-dragon (dragons are innmune to petrification).
The powers of gaze attack would be really nerfrd, only cold+poison damage, but the true petrification effect would be only after enemy lower 0 points.
And like option, a special racial feat, (+ graft and monster allies) two "bony" snakes (like the atheris hispidas). to be like a mixture of tentacle (natural weapon) and spiked chain, or some innate racial power like the psionic constucts, or summoning natural ally.

| #5LuisCarlos17fAug 06, 2015 4:35:21 | I mean "Euryale-kin" because that "kin" means "kindren, children", the same way there is a dragonkin and cyclopskin. Euryalekin means "Euryale's children"
The "demi-medusa" may be an interesting monster girl, with the right racial traits, but the petryfing gaze is too powerful for 1st level PCs. I suggest a nerfed or softer version of that power, for example a magic attack with poison+cold damage, or a temporal paralysis. Another option is she can to spend a 6th spell slot for a innate "petryfing gaze", or only if she is in a special sacred place, the temple of her goddess.
