| #1Hurin88Feb 11, 2015 12:25:40 | I'm starting up a new 5e campaign and looking through the PHB backgrounds. There aren't a lot there... is that the whole list? Have there been any backgrounds added beyond the PHB? Just wondering, before I finish my character, if I have any other options.
Thanks |

Somebody else may know of a list, but I would think it's pretty campaign specific if you get outside of the examples. |

If you don't mind fan-created ones, there are some on ENWorld in their Backgrounds Database
Backgrounds are non-critical in the sense that they don't affect game mechanics - they are pure story and, well, creating the story is what you are expected to do in D&D so go for it. Be creative.

I am making a character based on the Elf Wizard character we played in the free downloadable playtest package. At first level, he seems to have 5 skills trained... If he got 2 from his class, and 2 from his background, how did he get the other one?
