| #1kimbyMar 06, 2015 13:03:51 | Does anyone know if Minotaurs will be available in 5E anytime soon? If someone from WotC or WotC R&D sees this, some sort of answer would be appriciated. Thanks in advance! |
| #2melloredMar 06, 2015 13:35:08 | Unlikely to be anytime soon. |
| #3Dougan_AxehammerMar 06, 2015 13:47:05 | With WotC being relatively mum about what it is they're working on for the future, it's really hard to say whether or not Minotaurs as a PC race will be published in the near future. Despite what mellored says, it is equally likely to be soon. Recent experience has taught me to not speculate on what WotC is or is not planning. All we can do is either say "I hope Minotaurs will be a PC race soon" or say "Here's my mock up for a Minotaur PC, what do you think". |

So if you take a look at the MM entry and start breaking down hit-die and abilitied vs comparable class level and you can get a decent idea for how to start breaking it down. I may actually do the math this weekend, but that's a lot of work. |
| #6pukunuiMar 06, 2015 20:35:47 | I asked Mike Mearls about a minotaur race a while back. Unfortunately, he thought I was talking about the Large-size monster version, not the Medium-size version introduced as a playable race with 4e, so his response was that he'd probably do it with monster racial class levels. The devs did talk about doing that once or twice during the playtest. They've said nothing more concrete, though, so I wouldn't expect to see anything along those lines - either a playable Medium-size minotaur race or a way of playing a Large-size monstrous minotaur using racial class levels - in the near future. |

| #10LuisCarlos17fMar 07, 2015 3:52:37 | If minotaur can be a PC race... what about horns? minotaurs would need special helms, and horns like natural weapon wouldn´t be too useful in a real combat, because the head ought to bow, more if the enemy is small like a goblin or a kobold.

| #11Enevhar_AldarionMar 07, 2015 10:18:31 | From the Elemental Evil info page:
"In addition, a free download will be available in mid-March that includes more new races plus the player content available in Princes of the Apocalypse, just in time for the start of the Elemental Evil season of the D&D Adventurers League."
So we are getting new races of some kind later this month. It may just be the Genasi or it may be more races than that. We just have to wait and see. |

| #13MechaPilotMar 08, 2015 1:11:52 | Unless you're talking about a race that's considered iconic to a given setting (like the warforged are to Eberron, the Kender to Dragonlance, or the Vistani to Ravenloft), we're all probably on our own when it comes to non-standard race choices. Of course, that assumes that we continue to see the current level of third party support. Once a licensing agreement gets hammered out, we might see all manner of third party support (which often means taking the good with the bad). |
