The boat has sailed for this edition for the super scribe. Specialists can already learn, cast, ritual, spell master, arcane recover, and signature ANY spell.
The batbelt could still be achieved.
Arcane Tradition: Generalism (or whatever for your world)
Level 2: When you arcane recover slots, you can also swap out an equal number of prepared spell levels.
Levels 6, 10, and 14 are taken care of by a smoothed "Cantrips Known" column that ends with 8 cantrips, not 5. However, from level 1, all of the generalist's cantrips must each be of a different school.
+3 cantrips for -3 specialist flashy abilities, and the prep swapping saves you from just beeing the housekeeper. |

| #3LokironAug 30, 2014 7:48:24 | I like the generalist wizard as I think Merlin and maybe Gandalf would fit in the category. Many others, but I don't know that much myth or fiction. When designing it, I think each subclass benefit should about equal the other subclasses' benefits at each level. Level 2 benefit of one subclass = level 2 benefit of another subclass. That is my opinion and advice. |

Level 2: Expanded Knowlage You learn 2 more cantrips. You learn and prepare 1 extra wizard spell. This increases to 2 at level 6, 3 at level 13, and 4 at level 17.
6: Cantrip Mastery: Once at the end of a long rest, you can change 1 wizard cantrip you know for another one.
10: Arcane Adaption: You can cast any wizard spell you know without having it prepared by useing a spell slot 1 higher then normal. You do not get any "higher level" benifits from this spell.
14: Arcane Mastery: You can cast any wizards spell without having to know it by expending a spell slot that is 2 higher then normal. You do not get any "higher level" benifits from this spell. |
