Need Me a Serpent God

Any ideas for a Serpent God. There is Zehir from 4E and I have used him before, or the traditional AD&D Mershaulk (sp?) and I have the 3.5 Serpent Kingdoms book.

The PCs are in a cesspool of a city named Lyris and I am putting a cult of Yuan Ti in the city. Lyris is a horrible city corrupt and bloated where the Yuan Ti get to ply the slave trade and where life is cheap. One easily buy some flesh for the night (or permanent) and murder is a daily event.

If the PCs need an unexpected (sorta-) ally, have some yuan-ti who venerate the World-Serpent (as in Primal Power) show up to help the PCs out of a jam, then do whatever skullduggery they had in mind, and blame the PCs for it.

Unless you plan for the PCs to encounter some kind of avatar of the deity, it should be very easy to just make one up since you won't need to give it stats.

Sertrous is a demon, so you know he's much cooler than any god could ever be.

I would just use Set if you are looking for something different from D&D existing deities. We've had several campaigns using Conan content that fans enjoyed.

Damballa is also pretty cool. A good example of a serpent god that is constructive, not destructive.

-Janzirai (originally the World Serpent, but split: Janziria/Aeshma).

-The Lizard Folk god (Saumanya?).

-The Melnibonean one, Hashaaaastak (sp?).

-Cobra Commander.

Well at the moment I am using the name Zehir but thast could be the human name so another one is doable.

Ydersius is another name I can use from Paizo's Goloarion game world. I forgot the MM actually gives a small list of Serpent deities all of them from the Realms.

Here are four beings the Yuan Ti useally worship

Dendar, the Night Serpent.
Merrshaulk, Master of the Pit.
Sseth, the Sibilant Death.

Sertorus, the First Heretic

On Zehir it should be pointed out that he is  literally the god Set by another name. Sseth is also another name that Set goes by when he being was being worshiped by the Yuan Ti.

Apep from Egyptian myth was the serpent of darkness that Set fought to keep Ra's sun chariot safe every night IIRC.
