Bolas are not in Basic
Nets have been changed to an attack and has a action "cost".
Whips are no longer special and use normal damage rules.

Launches are the same

1) What do you think about the changes?
2) Which special weapons do you expect to see in the real books?

I am okay with the whip. The net change swords me out a little but I guess it was to preemptively prevent the Trident and Net fighter from Tanglelocking foes while stabbing them. The loss of the bola in Basic makes me sad as it is an easy and simple way to nudge the idea that there is more than stabbing, bashing, blasting, and running. I guess they took it out as it was a two roll weapon.

I hope to see a lasso. And bolas back in via the PHB. True rangers will want them.

And siege weapons.

I wanted tridents to be barbed...That'd make them a worthy pick over just a spear. When thrown, and they hit, they stick in a creature painfully, forcing it to use an action to pull it out, or be at disadvantage, slowed, or something like that.

Bolas are awesome, as they knock prone on a hit, again requiring an action to be spent removing it, and 1/2 a creatures move then spent getting up. I don't know how a lasso would work in D&D...A short ranged (10-20 ft.) grapple, essentially, is my best guess.

I hope there's more than just 'silvered' in the PHB. I know I'll make stuff up anyway, but it'd be nice if the Dev's did too. Mithral = to steel, half the weight. Adamantine = 10-20% more  weight, but also +1 (non-magical), Darkwood, Cold iron, serrated slashing weapons (+1 damage only), etc. Also, something on stone and bronze age stuff would be nice, and how that compares to steel.

Dark sun and Oriental Adventures are full of fun special weapons too.

I still don't get why reach weapons can't get advantage on a prone target from 10' away...Prone means disadvantage on any attack further than 5 feet...
