http://www.enworld.org/forum/showthread.php?365124-News-Scoop-Two-new-licenses-for-2015-D-amp-D-COMPATIBLE-and-FREE-D-amp-D!-COMMUNITY-USE

Highlights.

Community license make what you like, can't sell it but can ask for donations

Publishers license semi open cna use setting but can't sell PHB type rules

Print on demand D&D classics

References Pathfinder a lot

Explains why they said no to Bruce Heard in regards to Mystara

The 5 worlds

FRCS 2015

Eberon, Darksun, Dragonlance 2016

Mystara 2017

Other Worlds opened up 2017

Birthright is becoming public domain

Probably not legit but funny as hell.

I said its not legit;)  The main clues being

1. References Pathfinder a lot.

2. Subbing out the names

3. Three campaign settings in one year.

The overall tone also was wrong.

Its why I posted the 2nd link as well as it got debunked on the forums fast.

It's kind of scary how much time and effort someone invested in that, for a joke that isn't actually funny.

~3,000 words doesn't actually take all that long to type up, if you know what you are wanting to say... my question is simple though: What purpose does (extremely poorly) faking a press release about D&D licensing and release scheduling do for anybody?

I would have loved Mystara returning.

If you want Mystara to return, just dig out (or download) the old Mystara books and go ahead setting to work updating the number parts. Old TSR D&D books often tended to be only 10-20% actual crunch unless one counts random result tables which need not be altered anyway. The 5E monster manual is huge and probably already contains all the monsters you need... granted... not necessarily at the right level and you'll need to debuff them yourself, but...  it ought not to be that big of a task.

Probably easier than coming up with this insane scheme as a September Fool's joke that the person posted.
