| #1AriKanenJul 31, 2014 15:53:53 | Since not everyone checks the Adventure's League subforum...Player's Guide has been released! There may be some juicy bits for folks that soaking up all the new info on 5e.

Here's the other thread: http://community.wizards.com/forum/dd-adventurers-league/threads/4119536 if you want to discuss it in the appropriate forum. |

| #5The_White_SorcererJul 31, 2014 16:37:07 | The one thing that pisses me off about this document is that it really makes me want to play Expeditions, but I know I'll have a snowball's chance in hell of finding a game here. No store in my country even runs Encounters, and Pathfinder Society and hatred for WotC are firmly entrenched in the local gaming community. |

By doing this, they're effectively saying "So, okay: this information on the Moonsea was written during 2nd Edition (or 3rd Edition). Have fun with it anyway." Inclusiveness. I love it.
I dunno. Maybe I'm feeling all warm-n-fuzzy inside for other reasons

| #10pukunuiJul 31, 2014 21:27:56 | Thanks for sharing this, Ari. I don't look in the Adventurers League forum, so I wouldn't have seen this myself otherwise.
One comment: I would've thought an urchin would have a poor lifestyle, not a modest one ... |
| #11ShadeRavenJul 31, 2014 21:34:12 | I hope they shift the no-online idea for 5th, as well. I have an unlimited licence for Fantasy Grounds and it's fantastic. I would be happy to set up a table for those who don't have easy access locally to make it more inclusive, and online groups are extraordinarly easy to set-up and maintain, not to mention allow for rotation and replacement when necessary.
I have yet to have anyone not become more enthusiastic about D&D after experiencing it through FG. To me, it's win-win, but it's hard to prove that to decision makers that see it as a threat to the FLGSs that *do* need support.

| #16Thank_DogAug 01, 2014 1:26:26 | I want to see these backgrounds. I hope they're in the 8th of August Basic PDF update. Hard to make an AL character in preperation for ToD if you need a PHB before ToD even starts. |

| #28MarandahirAug 01, 2014 5:57:50 | I know you don't base ANYTHING on that, but still I'm with The White Sorcerer. Those backgrounds just don't make sense for defaults, and Hermit makes a lot of sense for Monks and Druids, and Outlander a lot of sense for the Ranger. |
| #29zoroaster99Aug 01, 2014 7:19:23 | Anyway, the "default" background for a class is only there to provide fast character creation for a new player. I love the fact you can combine any class with any background to make skill selection more flexible. It is one of my favorite things about 5th edition's character creation system. |
