I'm looking to get into a DnD group, I recently picked up the newest players handbook and been trying to grasp the concept. Since this is an imaginative game i figured possibly doing games over skype chat and such should be fairly simple. Or an alternative is to use tabletop simulator on steam. If anyone would like to add me to their group pls let me know =D.

Although playing by Skype is not my own cup of tea, I'm sure someone here will express some interest - or at least point you in the right direction to meet up with a potential group.
I'm curious, though: how'd you hear about the new edition and what got you curious enough to buy a Players Handbook when you don't know anyone else that plays?
I've known about this game for a long while and actually played a game way back in high school but that never really kept on. Travelling on a few years later i met someone i used to work with who was interested in the game so we played 3.5 but work got in the way after 4-5 games in then my friend got into an accident and is currently still unable to play any DnD and he has no date on when his condition will be better. I picked up the new player handbook in hopes I could find a group to play with, i figured with tech these days via skype and all it shouldn't be that hard as such with that tabletop simulator on steam. There is also a group that plays at my local gamestore and one of the dudes said i may be able to join i just have to chat with the GM. Last reason i picked it up is because they only had 2 left in stock and they were not sure of when more would be coming in.

If you don't have a FLGS nearby to find an IRL group, I would suggest checking out Roll20.com. There are many groups that play many different RPGs, and I'm sure you could find one that has an open spot.
