| #1ChrisCarlsonFeb 02, 2015 16:19:37 | Strategicon's biggest convention of the year!
The time is nigh! Who all's going?
If anyone wants to meet up or hang out, give the word. |
| #2bawylieFeb 02, 2015 19:53:18 | And leave my house?!? |
| #3joeburgosFeb 02, 2015 20:40:14 | I'll be there and running some events for the LA Adventurers League, (HotDQ). |

| #7ChrisCarlsonFeb 03, 2015 8:57:33 | Excellent! I'll bring the 12oz. gloves...
|
| #8RCanineFeb 03, 2015 22:22:56 | I'll be there Saturday, playing two slots and DMing a third.
While we're at it, we should organize some kind of community meet-up, or at the least have some way to match face with username. We need to be able to tell each other how wrong we are to our faces. |
| #9ChrisCarlsonFeb 04, 2015 6:23:30 | Agreed. I'd also love a chance to tell all y'all how terribly wrong you guys are to your smug faces! |
| #10RCanineFeb 04, 2015 20:57:25 | This should probably have been posted in the D&D AL Forum. |
| #11ChrisCarlsonFeb 05, 2015 6:12:59 | Nah. I know any AL players in the area are probably already going to be there. I was targetting all the folks around here who don't go to that sub-forum (I don't go in there, so I assume others don't as well...). |
| #12OraibiFeb 06, 2015 14:01:37 | I will be there and playing in two AL games.
I'm also running a session of The Queen's Cavaliers, my own RPG coming out later this year, giving a seminar about kickstarters, and having a booth in the vendor room (shared between my Bold Pueblo Games and Jesse Butler's Calico Games). Feel free to drop by our table and say hi -- and get a ribbon for your con badge! Also, if you want to coordinate a meeting place, I'm more than willing to have some kind of check-in sheet on a clipboard at the table. |
| #13ChrisCarlsonFeb 06, 2015 14:04:23 | (Well then, don't tell Paiva I'm playing some D&D. He thinks I work all weekend...)

| #16Brock_LandersFeb 06, 2015 22:22:38 | Damn, I am now based in London, UK, used to live in LA, but will be coming out ("...I'm coming out...") to LA in April/May, and my father and most of my buddies live in Venice and Santa Monica, would be easy to get there. |

| #18ChrisCarlsonFeb 08, 2015 12:01:19 | Nope. We are also not as the same hotel we used to be. A lot has changed in the years since some of the nay-sayers were around complaining about the old ways. Completely new ownership as well (has a lot do due with it, IMO). We've made a lot of improvements and things are looking up considerably. Anyone who hasn't come to one of our cons in years, I stongly recommend coming back and seeing for yourself. |
| #19RCanineFeb 08, 2015 14:18:36 | Lol yeah, that Radisson with it's permanently closed parking structure. Won't miss that.
Iirc to get the discount you have to valet park and tell then you're there for the con. It's not well advertised.
Also, if you know people nearby, carpooling is optimal. |

| #27ChrisCarlsonFeb 11, 2015 7:11:07 | We have a whole page on our website focused on parking.
None of this should be "unknown" for anyone who cares to bother to look. |

| #32OraibiFeb 12, 2015 5:59:09 | Anyway! If you're at the con, look for the vendor room table for The Queen's Cavaliers and say hi. ![]() |
| #33ChrisCarlsonFeb 12, 2015 6:28:22 | I will be doing just that...
As well, if anyone wants to meet up, just ask around for me. I'm usually wandering the floors regularly (when I'm not sneaking in a game). |
| #34ChrisCarlsonFeb 17, 2015 16:15:22 | What a great weekend. We hit our milestone of over 2,000 attendees. Which is good for us.
I got to meet a few forumites and put faces to names. That was awesome. Would have loved to have met more. Our next con is just around the corner, in May (Memorial Day weekend). We should totally arrange some kind of 'official" meet-up time and place to do it right.
Anyways, I got to play a handful of sessions of 5e AL. Had a blast. Did a few other things as well, besides just work all weekend. So for me, personally at well, it was a total win.
Thanks to everyone who came out to help share in our growing success. See you in just over three months. |

| #36OraibiFeb 20, 2015 3:12:25 | I had a great time at the con and enjoyed meeting some new faces! |
| #37joeburgosFeb 20, 2015 5:41:34 | Had a great time too. The LA AL folks got me all set up nice, I had 6 players but had to squeeze in a 7th, but overall I had a great group, very polite and I ran the first part of HotDQ for them. I had a mix of noob, PF and 4e, only 2 had played 5e. They told me that they liked how smooth combat flowed and the streamlining (a PF player told me this). I cant wait for next year, I told the AL organizers that I'll probably run 2 events for them. The AL folks were super nice, got 5 players set up with DCIs and answered many questions.

| #38ChrisCarlsonFeb 20, 2015 9:53:39 | Thanks Joe, Oraibi, and others, who contributed to making our convention a continued success.
We couldn't do it without you guys! |
