Other Races than the ones in the PHB

Hi everyone,

Has anyone done any work on coming up with rules for races not in the PHB?  I had a Shadar-Kai monk in my old campaign that could somewhat translate to being a Way of Shadow monk in 5e, but coming up with stats for the race is currently a roadblock.  Same for my Githzerai Avenger.

Anyone homebrewed any of the "missing" races?

I understand that warforged are going to be in the DMG.   There may be others.   So, I'm personally waiting and seeing.

I've done the giants and faen from Arcana Evolved... check my campaign site for those. I'm working on a few others - the sibbeccai from Arcana Evolved, the rakasta and phanatons from Isle of Dread, and gnolls.

Eladrin, warforged, and kender will be in the DMG, along with guidelines for making your own.

Yes. And I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if my versions are more PC race like than the official versions that Wizards will eventually release.

There was also some really good work done on an Aasimar race that basically flipped the Tiefling racial entry. Unfortunately I don't know where it is on these boards.

Seems silly that they have Tieflings and no Aasimar.

Eladrin? I'm looking forward to the DMG even more now. I'd expect them to be inspired by the 2e Planescape eladrin, and possibly to fill the 'good outsider' niche.

Ok, so for Shadar-Kai, in 4e they received:

+2 Dex and +2 to Wis or Int

+1 Fortitude

+2 Death Saving Throws

Shadow Jaunt (teleport 15 feet as a move action and become insubstantial until the end of your next turn).

For 5e, I was thinking

+2 Dex, +1 Int

+2 Death Saving Throws

Proficiency in Spiked Chain (though thay weapon doesn't currently exist, so...)

...

Can Shadow Jaunt stay as is? Is it too powerful?  Would the end result be not balanced enough compared to the other races?
