I just went to amazon to pick up a gift copy for an old gaming buddy of mine for xmas, its sold out apparently, only available through amazon sellers, not directly through amazon. Any idea if a second print run is in the works?

Interesting. With stellar sales, maybe this year nobody will be fired at WotC just before Christmas?

It is still available from third-party sellers, but Amazon's own stock is gone. Wow.

Tnat is good.  Hopefully the next printing will be of a higher standard then the first one.

Also Barnes & Noble (www.bn.com) has the PHB back in stock now as well (they were out for a while and while they were out of stock it didn't even show up in the search results).

I'm still hoping for a sleeved set of all three for xmas. Please, make that happen WotC/Amazon. It'd be worth my ~95 bucks.

I've been reading through and using the PHB and MM (from a friend) though.

I've read that first print runs often have issues, usually with the 'plates'/ink jets (ie: faded, blurred ink, etc.) and sometimes the bindings...Glue despensers not set right, etc. But, these issues are only with the very first few off the run; the problem corrects itself, essentially, after fifty - hundred or so books are made.

One of my players was looking at Amazon today but it was sold out and had really high postage on other sites. PHB is $70 locally or around $55-$60 USD.

Yeah, with the PHB sold out expect that amazon scalpers will begin jacking up the price.  I think it safe to say that Wizards will be doing a second print run which may include corrected errata.
