#1 Jenks Apr 09, 2015 21:23:42	Hey D&D fans, I need some help. I'm going to be running an episodic campaign where the players choose what mission they want to pursue. In order to make this process more efficient I'm looking for software that can do the following things, or as many as possible.   Allow players to communicate with each other. It doesn't have to be a "Chat". It could be more like forum posting, so long as it allows the players, and me, to discuss amongst each other what they want to do. Some way to indicate that they are coming to the next session. Ideally I would like a "yes" "no" "maybe" type voting system. A way for players to vote on which mission they want to pursue. I would very much preffer a mechanical voting system if at all possible, that will let show me results. Allows me to send a survey type form with the aformentioned attendence and mission voting features via email or text. I know nothing will be perfect, but there's gotta be something that has SOME of this functionality.   Thanks in advance folks!   Edit: I'm open to web based or mobile!

#3 paulstrait Apr 09, 2015 22:18:08	We use google docs for this stuff.  You can create forms that will feed into a spreadsheet, and you can also a spreadsheet tab to have people indicate availability at various time slots each day of the week.  We also use a google spreadsheet for keeping all sorts of other campaign details like inventory & equipped items, quests, personality/bonds/backstory/etc., experience points, etc.  You can also use a google doc for discussions (though frankly we just have a weekly email chain for that stuff, but we put clues, big decisions, that sort of thing in the google doc).  The great thing about google docs is that everyone in your group can simultaneously edit the documents, and you can see what other people are editing in real time.    Here is a link to our current campaign spreadsheet (this link will allow you to view but not edit):  https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1CFHyviysgZioak8OM2iM-8KCm1EbpfT4S9IntDz4le4/pubhtml   Here is a link to our last campaign spreadsheet:  https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Fy4pb8An1SphF61k-W8g4QAkMn1WMDyXCmQuoMaTLTw/pubhtml   We have tons of tabs that we use for all sorts of different purposes; take a look for more ideas.   You can also use a google doc presentation to create 'opening credits' to start off an evening, with images of each PC and a note about something interesting currently going on with that character, key NPCs, enemies, images of what play looked like when you left off the previous week, a recap and/or background to get everyone on the same page.  It is a great way to start the action and remind everyone of what is going on.  Here is one I put together from about 5 years ago:  https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1rgV_IrQ__nmph4wryDKoF1f6U0kJn1l-OY6hPvDi2Yc/pub?start=false&loop=false&delayms=3000
#4 kalil Apr 09, 2015 23:16:56	Obsidian portal has nice tools for campaign management. I have only used it once or twice, and I am not sure it has all the features you require but that would be my first stop if I was looking for an online campaign management tool.
