Are the basic rules, and the Player's Companion sufficient to run PotA? I noticed there's no DM's supplement on the website (or maybe I just can't find it); so does that mean any new/non-Basic material is in the book already?

I've not bought PotA yet, since my group is still working through Lost Mine of Phandelver, but I'd be inclined to get it anyway if it has worthwhile new monsters, etc., I can cannibalize for my current game.

I havn't seen the new PotA. One of the selling points for 5e is that all you need to play any of the published adventures  is basic DND and an accompaning free pdf.

I believe Mearls has said that there will be a free pdf supplement with monsters and magic items so you can play it with just the basic rules. The supplements aren't always posted right away. If it's not up in a day or two, maybe contact WotC customer service.

I haven't seen it to confirm, but there was a statement that the adventure would have all the material the DM needed to reference, which presumably meant outside the basic rules since the plan was stated as being that a group would only need the adventure being run + free materials to get playing (the core rule books being for extras and home-brewing, rather than required to play).

According to the AL admins - no pdf supplement will be forthcoming.

The MM is required for some encounters (as the creatures are not all found in the DM basic rules). The DMG is also required for magic item descriptions.

The only book not required is the PHB.
