| #1TheMightyGooseApr 07, 2015 13:11:42 | Are the basic rules, and the Player's Companion sufficient to run PotA? I noticed there's no DM's supplement on the website (or maybe I just can't find it); so does that mean any new/non-Basic material is in the book already?
I've not bought PotA yet, since my group is still working through Lost Mine of Phandelver, but I'd be inclined to get it anyway if it has worthwhile new monsters, etc., I can cannibalize for my current game. |

The MM is required for some encounters (as the creatures are not all found in the DM basic rules). The DMG is also required for magic item descriptions.
The only book not required is the PHB. |
