Such a tragedy for someone loved by so many millions to end up at that point. Depression is a hell of a drug. 
I always hoped he would end up being one of the celebrity interns of Acquisitions Inc. I think my next character will be a bard who takes up adventuring after losing a sweet gig in the capital city performing daily shows for the noble children. He'll be called Rainbow Ramsay.
I am going to miss him greatly. He was amazing.
Loved his performance in Awakenings. RIP.

I hope that movie has no real relationship with life and death – if it was, he'd be experiencing more something of what his character's WIFE was in the film.
I love the paint scenes, don't get me wrong, but I think that movie carries a lot of unfortunate implications and we should focus on other things – his amazing career, the pain faced by his family and friends. I honestly can't imagine how much pain his this mutual friend of mine must be going through right now; she knew him really well.
His movies weren't always the best, but he was always wonderful in them. I loved his work from the first time I saw his life action 'Popeye' as a kid.
I'm sorry the world didn't bring him as much joy as he brought the world. He will be missed.

I think anyone who saw his work or heard his comedy, particularly starting in the mid-90s, maybe a bit earlier, could sense that the man was seriously depressed. I mean, I always had an image of him as a "sad clown" of sorts. At least in his starring roles which seemed to have ended with RV and Man of the Year in 06.
I know he is generally he is generally remembered for more funny characters, but he did some rather dark roles as well. Anyone else remember One Hour Photo or saw the Law & Order episode he was in?
For years he had just been doing very small bit parts as a character actor. Still, he was working rather consistently and he is even going to be in 3 more movies that haven't come out yet.
But you know... if after all these years, a man of his talent, fame, fortune, and prestige who could go anywhere, do anything and most people would happily do whatever he asked couldn't find any reason to continue to exist in this world... in fact, found so little reason he actually went through the effort of leaving this world... what hope is there for the rest of us. I mean... really?

Depression takes you where it will. You are not the one in control. It's kinda like the horse and the cart, except you're not the horse. Depression is also a very isolating illness.
