This is for fans who are excited at the news and want to speculate on the story, characters, products. Please dont threadcrap, its not nice and not necessary.

I'll begin:

It'll probably be set near Menzoberranzan or Ched Nasad. Obviously Driz'zt is a key NPC player but would be awesome if another member of the Company of the Hall makes an appearance.  In terms of products, would be awesome to get a full range of mini's depicting the major demons, plus NPC drow. We'll also probably have a story set in the Deep gnome cities and they'll probably serve as allies to the players.

Edit 5/7/15:

We've had an epic sized Orcus, and more recently Bahamut and Tiamat. I would love to see Wizkids release an epic sized Demogorgon. My table-top deserves no less

Lots of undead/demon minis, with a few demon hunter/undead slayer PC minis! (Hopefully)

It seems that Svirfneblin won't be available, since they are connected to the Elemental Evil season. Maybe an exception will be made? (I'm thinking of Adventurers League here. Obviously home games can use whatever)

What sort of new races and classes might there be?

Recent Unearthed Arcana and Survery results show dissatisfication with Sorcerers and Rangers. Perhaps a demonic sorcerer origin and some sort demon hunter archetype for Rangers. Or else some underdark themed Ranger archetype.

Duergar as a new dwarf subrace?

I'd be happy with Aasimar being made AL legal for the demon season.

I imagine that we will see a lot of new spells for Clerics and Paladin, who were given the shaft in Elemental Evil.

I am already speculating on the next big adventure, we have had Dragons, Elementals, and now, Demons, so, what next?

I am thinking maybe an Aberrations/Psionic one, or Fey.

I thought fey was going to be the next one (instead of the demons).  I would say undead or fey next.  I will stick to my prediction that psionics that isn't just casting pychic-like spells will show up in a UA article (likely a series of UA articles) long before it shows up in an AP for the feedback if nothing else.

Does anyone else remember that Mike gave an example of psionics being something they might do for a mindflayer-themed campaign? This is pretty close. It's set in the Underdark and includes duergar, at the very least. Mayhaps we'll see some official psionics options to go along with it?

EDIT: Here we go (from last November's Reddit AMA):

How do we know Drizzt will be there?  Was that officially announced?  He wouldn't be a part of the adventure just because it's set in the Underdark.

The monster on the cover is Demogorgon, the Prince of Demons himself.  I gather this will introduce the epic level rules.  I look forward to seeing that.

I'm hoping that there aren't any new races introduced in Rage of Demons. With Drizzt as the main focus perhaps we'll see some love for the martial classes.

I would like to see subclasses like Dark Pact a Warlock or for wizards drow flavored Arachnomancer, Demonologist as a class that eithor Summons or uses demonic spells, Demon soul sorcerer.  For races I would like the Fey'ri, Gloaming, and Deep Imaskari.  I'm glad their going to have duergar as a PC.

Okay so they reference Drizzt frequently and explicitly for Neverwinter Online and Sword Coast Legends. They imply that he'll be in the adventure book as well. As for play options it's hard to know what we'll see as there's only the adventure book listed so far so unless there's an equivalent to the Elemental Evil Player's Companion PDF we likely won't have many new options for players.

I'm not sure I'd run the adventure but will still get it for ideas at least. The more Drizzt is involved in it the adventure the less likely I'll use it. I was hoping in 5e they'd let the PC's shine and brining back Drizzt into the adventures (and the games) feels like a step backwards on their statement about the PCs being the focus.

As for what we will see in the Adventure I suspect we'll see some new demon types as well as stats for Demogorgon, Orcus, and Graz'zt as they were all named as being loose in the Underdark (though for an adventure ending at level 15 they are likely to be either underpowered or just some sort of lesser avatar).

We will probably see a handful of new spells and magic items with an Underdark/underground theme and utilization.

Beyond that there's not enough information out yet to really speculate on what will be included in the book or in any online supplements tied to it.

I think you may be mistaken, Mirtek.

Tiamat was presented at Lv30 in Rise of Tiamat, despite it ending at the 15th Level like with Princes of the Apocalypse. The Princes of Elemental Evil here are presented as truly epic, world-shattering threats, but even they wouldn't hold a candle to a God, the strongest of Demon Princes, Asmodeus, or the Tarrasque. Since a bunch of the Tanar'ri were originally Primordials and were only later converted into Demons by the influence of the Obyriths and their Abyss, it stands to reason that the Shard of Pure Evil granted those who transformed into Demon Princes great power. Why else would they be drawn to seek out and fight over the Shard of Pure Evil? It's said that the Ruby Rod of Asmodeus may in fact be made from a shard of the shard, and that's why the Blood War exists. The Princes of Elemental Evil worship Tharizdun (the Elder Elemental Eye), and their ideals are aligned to some extent with that of the Primordials-turned-Demon-Princes like Orcus, Demogorgon, Yeenoghu, and Baphomet, but they are NOT Demon Princes themselves and have never touched the Shard themselves. The Ruby Rod is an important point here – Asmodeus uses its power, but he keeps it on the end of his Rod, never touching the stone, because Demons are chaotic and uncontrolled, and he is the master of manipulation, truly Lawful Evil incarnate. If he was to touch the end of his rod, you could imagine he too would turn into a Demon Prince, if it is indeed made from the Shard of Pure Evil. Miska and Demogorgon and Orcus and others all fought over the Shard of Pure Evil to be the "Prince of Demons" and Demogorgon is the current holder of the title (though some would say he's really a puppet for the schemes of an Obyrith, Dagon).

Demogorgon will all but certainly be over 20th Level, and I wouldn't be surprised if he is 30th Level or close to that. Remember, in the Dawn War, Demogorgon slew many a God.

This is all taking 4e Cosmology into account, and obviously a good portion of that is non-canon if you follow Greyhawk, and a good portion is different if you follow Eberron or Forgotten Realms, but it's still one variation of the canon, since Nerath is a cosmology you can play with, as of the Dungeon Master's Guide. Also, the story of the Obyriths and the Blood War isn't THAT different in the 3.5e Fiendish Codexes; the main difference is that we don't have established origins for the Tanar'ri Princes before they became Demons. The Primordial Chaos is no longer encircling the Abyss, but the story of the Elemental Princes and the Primordials and the Demon Lords haven't been ruled non-canon in 5e cosmology; the Abyss is still, as of both 3.5e Planescape and Fiendish Codex and 4e The Plane Below and Demonomicon, created by the Obyriths and Tharizdun, and thus interwoven with the story of the Elemental Princes.

Also, I would suggest that Ancient Dragons, Balors, Empyreans, and Pit Fiends could be considered equals to Elemental Princes and Archfiends and Archfey, and some Demon Princes, while other Demon Princes, Archfey, Archfiends, Titans, even a Primordial or two might rise to the level of the Gods. Remember, the story of the Dawn War said that the Primordials weren't nearly as powerful as the Gods, but were far more numerous. Thus, the sides were qually matched. The introduction of the Abyss to the equation changed the playing field. The Primordials-turned Demon Princes, were suddenly as powerful if not more powerful, than the gods Gods. I wouldn't consider an Empyrean mortal (it's a Titan after all), and Ancient Dragons would not take well to be calling mortal, either. After all, whenever have you heard of an Ancient Dragon dying of Old Age? No, they die because they're killed by something even more fiercesome, or else they're just slumbering like the Tarrasque, and almost as terrifying as the Tarrasque for the world when they wake up.

I think the demon lords will all be higher than 20, but some might not be much higher (Jubbilex was only 22 in 4e, despite the fact that his fluff made him nearly unkillable [he could swap his essence into any slime or ooze anywhere]).  The issue is how can a party of 15th level PC's take out 20+ level legendary demon lords, who are probably going to have advantage on saves against magic or magic effects (like regular demons).  At least they won't have lair actions.....

Maybe an artifact--that way the issue is whether the PC's can survive long enough to get near the demon lords to stab him with the Macguffin Sword of Good, and it is different from nerfing the ritual (like Tiamat) or just making them weaker (like the Princes).
