The only complaint I have regarding the new MM are the lack of Monsters by Climate tables.  I know we can stuff any monster into any encounter (space kraken, anyone?), but I prefer to keep my encounters stocked with monsters appropriate the environment in which the party itself.  And as there is no Climate entry in the stat block, that makes for some tedious research when creating an adventure.

Other than that one major gripe, the only other complaints I have are nitpicks (some old-time favorite monsters missing, some bland "leaders" for races like sahuragin, the sea-green background being used instead of illustrated environments appropriate the the monster being displayed, etc).  Overall it's a very nice book, but I'm already missing the convencience of Monsters by Climate section of the book.

If I remember correctly, I think there going to include that in the DMG.

That seems to be a common phrase. It seems like many threads hold to the belief that they are going to include "it" in the DMG. Lol.

Well Mearles and some other sources have stated a few of the things that will be in the DMG and the wording has included random encounter tables, monster by CR index, and hinted at a monster by environment listings.

The Monster Manual itself states that there will be wandering monster tables in the DMG. I imagine they'll be categorised by environment (urban, arctic, Underdark, desert, forest, etc).

My complaint:

ART IS TOO BIG.

...obnoxious, isn't it...

Oh, I thought your complaint would be that your book was a p.o.s. This seems to be the general issue thus far o.p.

Yep, it would have been nice to have that basic climate info in the M.M. and a list of Monsters by Cr. as well.
