| #1alienuxMar 10, 2015 10:40:14 | So after having converted a couple of older modules during the Next playtest, I decided to see how the old "Solo Adventure" module from the 1983 BECMI Red Box would play using 5E rules. This is the second adventure in the red "Players Manual" book from the set. Not the intro adventure with Aleena the Cleric and Bargle the Wizard (which is mostly text with just a couple of D20 rolls), but the one after that.
If you're interested, I have a blog post about it here: http://brianmhall.wordpress.com/2015/03/10/5e-dungeons-dragons-old-school-style-older-module-conversion/
Basically, it was fun and easy to convert, but I had to stick closely to the 5E Encounter Building guidelines in the DMG based on CR and XP for it to be very playable, which was expected. It was easy to convert on the fly since I had my 5E MM and DMG next to me, and it was a lot of fun considering that it's a solo adventure. |

Has anyone played either of those? Are they worth tracking down to possibly convert? |
