Ancient, Adult, Young, and Wyrmling red dragons!
It seems Lair actions replace spellcastimg from previous editions, unless you add class levels ...
The Ancient is a formidable oppnent in i straight fight, and also have decent Stealth (musing on a red dragon rouge ...) |

I don't know if you can smite with natural weapons, but if so the nice strength/charisma combo would make a blackguard red dragon even more of a monster.....
I do like the stealth though, as on one of my worlds, firearms will make it necessary for dragons to evolve into leviathans (lreplacing flight with swim/breath water and replacing wing attack with quick dive) who will sneak up on boats and then dive deep after an attack. A couple of levels of rogue would give a leviathan a good chance of taking out even a gargantuan boat in one shot. |

| #4blake_marloweAug 19, 2014 6:48:32 | the red dragon continues its franchise-long reign as serious butt kicker and creator of new PCS in good fashion! the lair actions appear really tasty, can't wait to see the rules for homebrewing them in the DMG.
and i agree re: the art for the red dragon. just about perfect.
was anybody else thinking the flavor text re: red dragons was more than a little reminiscent of how smaug is being depicted in the recent hobbit films? |

I did notice the facebook comments, though...A lot seem mad they don't have spells. Like they need them or something... |
