| #2pukunuiMay 04, 2015 21:11:59 | It depends. Ordinarily, you'd be able to pick up a dropped weapon for free. However, if you've already interacted with an object on that turn, you'd have to take the Use an Object action. See page 190 of the PHB for more. |

| #4OrwellianHaggisMay 04, 2015 23:57:08 | If the outcome was uncertain, e.g. the person tries to pick up his weapon while his enemy is trying to hack off his head, I'd say that your ruling of Use An Object was fine. I'd make it a contested roll between the two, and if the person trying to retrieve their weapon loses, the battle master gets to make an opportunity attack. |
