Dec 24, 2014 0:23:14 Hey every one. So shadow magic is a big part of my campaign. This had led to some of the PC asking about becoming Shades. So this is what I came up with and I would like some feed back.
Shades Ability Score Increase= +2 Dex. +1Chr or you may keep your original races score increase. This also a plies if the character if they becomes a shade after the original creation of the PC.Standard Human option must take a +2 to both Dex and Chr, but if your are using the variant human rule this doesn't apply.
Age=Shades do not physically age naturally in dim light or darkness but are still subject to aging by other means such magic or a ghost horrific visage.
Alignment=Usually evil or neutral.
Size/Speed=As original race.
Dark vision=60 feet
Trials of Five Darkness's=You where not born a Shade you chose to become one. but there is a little something left from your past life. Choose one trait other then the ability score increase, except as noted previously, you retain this one trait.Dragon Born must choose between their resistance or breath weapon and may choose to have it deal necrotic damage instead.
Touch of Shadows=You gain resistance to necrotic damage and fear but takes double damage from radiant and good aligned NPC do not start out friendly to the character.
Natural Sneak=You are trained in stealth.
Deaths Door=When using your HD to gain HP back you do not gain your con mod back. Magical heal does not apply modifiers ether, such as the +2 for healing potions or the spell casting mod on cure wounds.

Many of the concepts you submitted are similar to those I used for my Shadowborn (that's why I linked it to you), so I tend to agree on pretty much all the choices... however, I'm not sure about Death's Door. It sounds like a nerf that isn't really needed

Ok then remove all references to your former race besides trials of five darknesses. And instead of allowin them to pick any trait you're gonna have to specify a trait from each potential pre-shade race.
