| #1JenksFeb 23, 2015 10:11:52 | So this friday I am running a one off session thats going to be, or attempt to be, funny. Special thanks to Iserith who's 4th wall adventure helped inspire the very meta basis. Here's the premise.
The characters are a band of mercenaries of varying alignments. They are hired by a man named Jim Totallynotadragon to stop some criminals that are going to foil a local play by assassinating its lead actor. Through funny circumstances, the characters end up the main characters of the play. In this play they will be faced with funny circumstances and and real danger as the criminal organization attempts to assassinate the lead actor (one of the characters).
So I need ideas for
Here's an example of a scene I've already developed.
The players will have to improv as well, so don't worry about scripting things for them. As well, feel free to poke fun at RPGs and be as meta as you want! |

So, you have to roll play an orc, roll playing your self. Then, someone casts disguise on them. So you have to roll play an orc, disguesed as a dwarf, roll playing another player. (probably shouldn't get much more recursive then that). |

As the PCs are doing the stage fight, real foes can enter the scene. Have them fight the real foes on stage with the banana peels and make sure that you cut to the audience dying of laughter as "performers" slip and fall on banana peels. The entire time, the audience thinks it is still the play, but the PCs quickly find out that it is real.

Also, play D&D in D&D, that's about as meta as it gets. |
| #5FuelDropFeb 25, 2015 1:18:59 | If one of the PCs is female have them cast for the lead's damsel-in-distress romantic intrest. If none of the PCs is female, have the one with the lowest charisma forced to wear drag as the lead's D.I.D romance!
And of course, the play ends with the two kissing. |

That's an excellent idea. But to take it one step further, adapt from something itself adapted from Hamlet: "Rosenkrantz and Guildenstern are Dead."
Also...
The Adventure must start in an inn, talking to a hooded old man in the corner.
(Note that the old man has nothing to do with the adventure, has no idea who the players are, has no idea why they are fixated on him and is in fact terrified of them.)
If the players start asking too many questions of an NPC that would spoil the adventure if answered, a piano falls on them. Everyone witnessing this is saddened, but not particularly surprised another piano has fallen from the sky.
If, much later, the villain is in danger of defeating the PCs, have one of them notice the "Danger: Falling Pianos" sign and lure the villain next to it.
Have a monster who is too dangerous to fight, but can be bribed to allow passage in exchange for 50' lengths of rope, '10 poles, and iron spikes. Which everyone carries, but no one seems to remember the last time they were actually useful.
The Wild Magic Table. Use it for something. Anything really. It makes everything more comedic.
Flumphs.
