Sneak Attack WTF

I don't parse numbers, so I may be completely wrong here, but 10d6 EVERY FLIPPING ROUND???!!! That's seems WILDLY OP. Even at lower levels, extra 2d6 at level 3, 3d6 at 5, etc etc. And Rogues aren't even all that squishy, they have the same Hit Dice as Clerics, add in Evasion and Uncanny Dodge and suddenly Rogues can be front-line warriors! If it was required for Rogues to have Advantage that'd be one thing, but only needing an ally or even just another threatening creature next to the target? There is seriously almost never a time when a Rogue won't get to roll all those dice. Anybody else's mind as utterly melted as my own at this bullpucky?

*Editted out obscenities for child-proofing.

It is not overpowered. At many levels, Fighters can do more damage straight up without needing advantage or an adjacent ally to do it.

Also, from the Code of Conduct:

  • Do not use, post, distribute or link to obscene, pornographic, sexually explicit, graphically or gratuitously violent, derogatory, demeaning, malicious, defamatory, abusive, offensive, hateful or discriminatory language or content. This includes "masking" language by using alternative characters/spelling /spacing to get around profanity filters or claims of profanity filter "testing".

For a Rogue damage example, suppose a level 20 rogue, let’s call him Stabby McProfanityfilter is using two shortswords and standing next to his level 20 fighter friend, let’s call him Muscles, using a greatsword. If both of Stabby’s attacks hit and he gets a sneak attack, he will deal Edit: 2d6 + 5 + 10d6 = 47 damage. If all four of Muscles’ attacks hit, he will deal 8d6 rerolling 1s and 2s + 20 = 53 ⅓ damage.

Rogues = 11d6+5 (43.5)

Fighters = 8d6+20 (48)

Fighter's also have better AC and HP.

And more options to boost their damage.

Rogues are fine. People need too stop complaining that the final level abilities are OP. High level **** is supposed to be strong.

Err, are we talking about a level 20 rogue?

Like, level 20?

It's not OP at all.

5e casters toss around handfuls of dice all the time, round after round, until they are forced to take a long rest. Plus they have utility options that beat the rogue at pretty much everything too.
