I can't believe that in the spell index they didn't tag spells by school, at least in the wizard index. I thought, "Necromancer...that sounds fun. I wonder which spells are Necromancy?"
To find out, you have two choices:
1) Look up each spell in the wizard lists, then flip pages until you find it and check. Then back to the spell list...
2) Manually page through every single spell checking for the word "Necromancy".
Would it really have been so hard to add an abbreviation (Abj, Conj, Ench, Evoc, Nec, Trans, Div), plus a little graphic symbol (snowflake, flame, sparks, etc.) next to each spell? Oh, and one more mark, maybe an asterisk, for Ritual spells.
This is especially annoying given that the eldritch knight and arcane trickster are limited to wizard spells of only specific schools.
I expect this sort of thing to be in Project:Morningstar's 5e Character Builder, seeing as that's supposed to make it easier to build your characters (department of redundancy department, I know).
I agree though, and I also would have loved a little tag on the spells in the main body section to say what classes could learn them, though I understand that that becomes problematic if later on more classes are added, or new subclasses grant access to other spells. But I agree, school tags might have been nice for the book.

I also think it's annoying that they didn't give brief descriptions of the spells. Would it really have been so much to ask to get a good spell index like they had in 3e?
It's pretty shocking they didn't do it. Especially since (as I recall) they did it in 2nd edition too and 5e was supposed to be going back to that sort of thing.

Here's hoping we get a tome of spells type deal and that has a more 3.5 like spell index. Cuz say what you want about 3.5, it had a really useful spell index.
I'm hoping for a 'tome of spells' type book mostly just to expand on spell (and invocation) selection. Don't get me wrong, the lists seem pretty decent for a core book just stating off, but it would be nice to, say, have at least one wizard spell of each school available at each level.
I had to do the same thing for feats. A quick reference guide of what's available with brief essentials.

As for sorted spells, sorting is only really important for the Wizard (especially due the the EK and AT using mostly two schools), and this is sorted for all spells.

I made a similar list on a spreadsheet, but it's nice that there's a public, web-based list now. Good job, Elfcrusher. EDIT: And of course to our old D&D community friend Ari "Mousferatu" Marmell. And anyone else involved. 
Updated with some aesthetic improements and a Reset button to clear all selections.
