| #1Sword_of_SpiritJan 19, 2015 15:09:29 | I don't want them to rush it, but...
Is anyone else getting a little antsy waiting for the first of the articles?

| #2Lady_AurallaJan 19, 2015 15:10:34 | All we seem to be doing in regards to 5e is waiting. |
| #3melloredJan 19, 2015 15:13:00 | i'm playing 5e, not waiting. |
| #4AaronOfBarbariaJan 19, 2015 15:22:57 | I'm not at all antsy... I really can't even think of what the articles are going to be about, unless they launch right into putting out the stuff that was originally going in the DMG but didn't make the final cut, and that's all material that I don't have an immediate need of.
Like mellored said, I'm playing - not waiting. |

| #7IllithidbixJan 19, 2015 17:42:26 | I do agree that I'd much prefer a reguarly updated website with ideas and discussions than a pretty one with little content.
But, as others have said, the game is out and I haven't found it at all lacking for running and playing games with.
Had a ton of use out of the playtest material, basic pdfs and the 3 core books. (Actually; as much as I like them, I've barely needed to use the MM or DMG at all). |
| #8HobbitFanJan 19, 2015 18:06:36 | I think it would be good for WOTC to talk about what they want to do in 2015 with D&D. |
| #9Sword_of_SpiritJan 19, 2015 19:08:05 | I'm running a weekly game, so I'm not just waiting.
I am, on the other hand, very much in need of rules that were already at least partially done but cut from the DMG for space.
Top of My List 1) The Gestalt/AD&D/Hybrid multiclassing 2) Random Encounters by Environment 3) Battlesystem 4) Recreating the feel of earlier editions
After I finish running Lost Mine of Phandelver, #1 & #2 are essential needs for any future campaigns. #3 is highly desireable (and essential for one adventure I'm planning to run soon), while I'm highly interested in seeing #4 whether or not I find anything in it I personally use.
I can understand that some of you might not have any interest in those, but I've been waiting for them for a very long time. I'm willing to wait for them to be done right rather than rushed out half-baked, but I hope that is the reason we don't have them yet, rather than focusing on priorities that have little effect on my gaming. |

| #25Azzy1974Jan 20, 2015 14:23:25 | I'm DMing a game, but I'm also fairly anxious to get some online content kicking. So let's kick that false dichotomy to the curb, shall we?
I'd love to see a series of articles that discuss the design of the game, what propmted particular designs, and such. I'd also like to see articles that expand on the DM's Workshop from the DMG, that goes into more detail, while providing examples, of creating new content and the philosophy thereof. Artcles that discuss using various elements of the game (say, monsters, spells, races, etc.) in different settings would be fun, too. As would article that provide tidbits about the different settings—like say how the Sunderiong has affected a particular location in the FR, or expanding infomation on a particular city or such in Greyhawk, etc.
Pretty much, I'd like for content that keeps us engaged, and wanting to come back to their website. Right now, the website, outsite of the forums, is pretty lifeless. Heck, even the forums have been less interesting, lately. |

But when your one guy that produces columns goes on maternity leave then things like that happen. |

| #40OrietJan 27, 2015 13:18:59 | I've been eagerly awaiting warforged since they appeared in the playtest. A little less so with the kendar, but it'll still be nice to see them too. I'm sure I have to wait until an Eberron campaign setting book comes out for the articifer class (as much as I've love to have it). Hopefully it won't be too many release cycles/years before such comes out.
Or Spelljammer. I'd love to see a modern version of that for 5th. It'd also mix quite well with Eberron. |

| #42OrietJan 28, 2015 7:22:56 | The DMG includes things like lasting injuries, massive damage, alternate natural healing rates, spell points instead of slots, characters being able to run a business between adventures, hero points, addtional attributes, plot points, and probably some others others that I'm forgetting at the moment. Oh, and that feats are an optional component, not an intrinsic always-there option.
Or are those not modular rules and rule changes? |
| #43ChrisCarlsonJan 28, 2015 7:45:02 | I've come to realize that when someone complains that 5e didn't live up to some kind of vague demand, like "modular expectations", it often means they wanted their particular houserules to be validated in print. Anything short of the rulebooks catering to them specifically and they call it a fail. IMX, anyway. <shrug> |

| #46setiJan 28, 2015 11:54:59 | I think if you look at 5e by itself (really hard to do) it's a great fantasy TTRPG.
Sure, I want more stuff (races/sub-races, feats, classes/sub-classes, a less lackluster ranger, psionics, non-FR settings, more optional rules variants, etc, etc, etc.) but as it is, it's pretty damn cool. It's also still an infant. Give it time, and hope WotC lets 3rd party publishers take up the reins for some content they don't want to, or don't have the time/money to, produce.
