Can anyone validate this?  It came this evening, but my account is perfectly fine (or so it seems).  There may be a scam going on.

It is addressed to me by name, with my e-mail and with the proper Wizards e-mail, but the actual password link is questionable.

Due to an unforeseen issue with our system, we were required to make changes to your account. The issue is now fixed, but in order to gain access to your account again you will need to reset your password.

To reset your password, click here or visit the Wizards Account site at accounts.wizards.com, click the "Login" button, and then click the "Forgot Password" link.

If you don't remember your Login ID, visit the Wizards Account site, click the "Login" button, and then click the "Forgot Login ID" link. After you have retrieved your Login ID, you MUST reset your password to complete the process.

If you have any questions, please contact Game Support at http://company.wizards.com/contact-us.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Hello Phobos!

I don't have any specific information about the problem right now, but the email is legitimate if it came from Wizards Customer Support. If you’re having trouble with the Wizards account system after receiving the email, we are actively looking into those issues, and we will send another email when we believe the problem has been resolved.

If your log-in is working fine, you don't have to do anything, but you can certainly reset your password by clicking the Forgot Password link on the login page.

for suspicious e-mails in general, never click on the link. instead, go to the site yourself and click "forgot password"

Actually  I checked and it does go to the wizards.com account page and rather than prompt for a password reset it just had all my account information there. I suspect these might have been auto-sent when they fixed the issue without actually resetting anyone's passwords.

Thanks Grazel; it seems peculiar though, that they would have an entirely separate domain for those messages.

I tried to e-mail Customer Service about the message, and I can't login on that server (while I'm logged in here and able to reply to forum posts). That server also would not let me change my password (technical difficulties).

I'm still a little suspicious; I thought thhe last round of account changes was to synchronize Wizards accounts across all their login domains.

Wanted to stop back in, Wizards contacted me via e-mail and this is legit.

Now, the funny thing is that my account WAS perfectly fine.  As of this AM, I can't log in on any PC by my home.  It won't take my password, so I tried to reset it, and it wont allow that.  This PC at home, seems ot still have a token or something.

But, it is a valid e-mail.  As Mellored suggested, I always go to direct to the site, rather than use  alink when suspicious.

Yes, it is a valid e-mail; and, as with Phobos, my acount was fine for a week, after receiving the e-mail, then just quit authenticating. When I tried to reset, it wouldn't allow me to.

Eventually (tonight) I was able to reset my password; but, only by using the actual User ID, which I've never used to login before (always using my e-mail address instead).

The point being, it wasn't SPAM; and, I'm back up and posting.

Ha, lawrencehoy,  I just got my issue resolved as well and was coming to post about it.  Took support near the week to eventually tell me the same thing!!
