The download link to the D&D Basic Rules pdf must be more prominent.

The D&D Basic Rules is a central document of the D&D game, and the official WotC Wizards.com website needs to feature it more prominently, especially from any D&D page.

To my surprise, EnWorld.org wasnt much better. Its news compilation discussed the download but doesnt seem to link to it.

I guessed (correctly) that the Article archive would link to it. But no newbie would know to do this.

If anyone else is hunting for the pdf download, link here:

The header (at the top of the page) for the D&D forums includes links to:

- home

- groups

- forums

- blogs

- wiki

Maybe add to these links:

- download for D&D Basic

This download link might also include downloads for things like character sheets.

The quick links on the right side of the page have it on a number of pages I hit. I did not see it on the Daily page though.

Daily D&D is what I default to visiting, but it's not the front page as per the current layout's mission: Daily D&D is for veteran visitors, while the front page is the first thing that new visitors should see because it's also the page that redirects from dungeonsanddragons.com.  So the Basic Rules could not be more prominent.  That said, the very top thing on the Daily D&D page is the Basic Rules as well, though it's masquerading as a D&D Next Q&A article, by it's article classification, so I can understand if that's deceptive and makes it look like it's another article discussing the Basic Rules.

Great. They fixed the problem.

Now when I enter wizards.com then link to Dungeons & Dragons, the Basic document at the wizards.com/dnd page is prominent indeed!

(Earlier this page was mainly only the link to 'New to D&D?')

They have it in the quick links on the daily page now.
