| #1AlynnJul 16, 2015 9:22:01 | Greetings Everyone,
I have made a Blog post expanding my thought processes on how I came up with a 5e rendition of the Sacred Fist from the 3.5 book Complete Divine by David Noonan.
If you don't wish to read the thought process, the Divine Domain writeup is located in a link at the bottom of the blog post.

Thanks for your time, and I look forward to hearing your comments.

Cleric Domains are about concepts and portfolio elements of their deities, not character archetypes. The Sacred Fist is a Monastic Order of Monks, not a portfolio element like Trickery, Light, or Knowledge.
The 3rd edition philosophy for the Sacred Fist was not so much of a Monk-Cleric hybrid as it was a Monk that could cast from the Cleric list. Arcane Trickster Rogue, Eldritch Knight Fighter, and Way of Four Elements Monk should be the guidelines here. There's no reason to shoehorn it into a class whose archetypes system don't fit. This is worse than, but analagous to, when the Warpriest in 4e got the "Corellon Domain" and "Tempus Domain" in Neverwinter Campaign Setting: yes, you can use the mechanics that way to emulate the elements from the previous edition prestige class. But does it make sense within the story of the class? No.
