There are rules in the game that allow you to have special actions or "cheats" based on how many ranks of skill you have in stuff like Bluff or Sense Motive or Sleight of Hand. (It was produced during the 3.Xe era.) I'm sure that could be easily adapted to D&D 5e.
I don't pull it out too often during an actual D&D session though because that's time we could be spending adventuring. |

| #6iserithSep 19, 2014 13:52:15 | I haven't played it a long time, but I think Three Dragon Ante takes longer than 20 minutes. I think there might be rules in the book for shorter games. (Probably you just reduce the number of coins each player starts with.) |
| #7ShiroikenSep 20, 2014 7:56:22 | If you're going to play, get the 1st set (chromatic and metalic) rather than the 2nd set which had "other" dragons. Of course, with both sets you can mix and match for an ideal set (which is what we did). |

You could always play Texas Hold'em, but add special rules for those players. Like they can see the next card in the river before the next round, exchange one of their two cards for one from the top of the deck.
I think what iserith said hits it on the mark; Three Dragon Ante is probably fun, but too long to throw into a D&D night. Unless you're running a Casino Royale adventure. Then it's totally... *puts on shades* in the cards. (Yeeeeeaaaah!) |
