He took fighter and archery as his fighting style. Which is fine cuz it works with all ranged weapons. He took human variant and the sharpshooter feat which works great for thrown weapons as they have shorter ranges in general. So far so good. But when I looked at scaling for him and subclasses it starts to break down some. So eldrich knight gets to summon a bonded weapon back to them as a bonus action. Perfect for throwing his spear and then calling it back to his hand. This seems the ideal use of this class feature. He could even use his action surge to throw it again! But what about when he gets an extra attack at 5th level and more beyond that? It states the extra attack is done as part of your attack action. So at 5th level there is no -throw spear summon spear as bonus action throw spear again? - he cant draw a spear either? How does one resolve multi attack and thrown weapons I guess is what im asking. I mean if you can draw knock pull back a bow and release an arrow multiple times what about daggers spears axes etc...? |

That way it is costing them something to draw multiple weapons. Now with the build you mentioned he would only get 1 item back a turn so he would need a large size quiver on his back and he would slowly run out of weapons (except for two that are bonded). Hopefully there is a returning weapon in the DMG that DOESNT use a bonus action to return the weapon to you, in otherwords a 'free action' return would be so much better for end game thrower builds. We just have to wait and see for now. |

He's just that good! Hands the size of hams, he has. |

| #7masterfat78Sep 06, 2014 1:14:49 | Well neither does throwing spear which he did mention. If he wants finesse than use daggers instead of throwing axes. Jesus I swear if you people acted this way in person I would show you what dirt tastes like. |
