So we all know the release timing for the PHB, DMG and MM. Are there any rumors out there as to when we might expect to see the first campaign setting source books?  I am all about the fluff so itching to get my hands on them.

Forgotten Realms fluff will certainly be ridden throughout the core rules, and all over the official website.

Warforged is in the DM's Guide, we've gotten confirmation of that.  They'll probably talk about a few different settigns in the DM's Guide too.  I'd expect to spend the rest of the year dealing with most FR stuff, and I wouldn't be surprised if a 5e, Post-Sundering FR Campaign Setting crops up before the year's end.   The thing is, due to D&D Classics, you don't need to wait for setting details anymore: all the past settings are available through the backlogs.  That said, I imagine next year we'll get Eberron at least.  And when the Magazines start up again, I'd expect them to throw fans of all the settings a few bones.

They said Eberron was being worked on but no timetable was announced yet.

I believe they have mentioned Greyhawk, Dragonlance, Dark Sun, and Ravenloft in passing.

I am guessing the FR setting book will be put out early next year (Jan/Feb), but my DM thinks it won't be out until Gen Con. I suspect that Eberron won't get a setting book until near christmas next year at the earliest. The other 3 haven't even been officially announced yet (only hinted at).

Considering the Sundering is bringing the Realms back to it's pre-4th edition state (aside from the the history of the Spellplague and the Sundering itself of course), now would be the time to pick up the Forgotten Realms from 3rd edition I would think.

I think we'll get FR (duh) first. It's possible we'll only get FR, though. It really depends if they will run this edition like 3/3.5e and 4e...Lots of books, over years.

5e might just stop. Who knows? Maybe January will reveal something, a release schedule for us, and sales figures/corporate 'notes' for the Dev team at WotC.

I want setting books too. I missed not having Dragonlance, Plane Scape, and Greyhawk for 4e. I would have at least milked them for ideas . Setting books that are editionless are still my (unlikely) wish from them. Put more races, backgrounds, classes, etc. in a PHB 2. Make setting books like gazeteers with a lot of history and art.

I don't want to have to buy an Eberron book just to use races like Shifter or classes like Artificer at my table, for example.

I want Spelljammer. Like, yesterday.

I don't really need other setting books, but Spelljammer would make my life better.

Planescape has been hinted as well though obviously nothing is confirmed. Planescape is the default cosmology, so the groundwork is already laid. They would be foolish to not release it due to its sheer popularity despite the fact it only had official support in AD&D 2e.
