| #1AarynDDec 23, 2014 8:16:22 | It was a slow day at work, and I decided to write a little Christmas story for our D&D group. Hope you enjoy
Twas the night before Wintermas, and out on the trail, was a band of adventurers, clothed in robes, and leather, and mail. Seasoned and hardy, yet worn out and tired, this tight band of friends, sat by the fire. Remembering adventures, and dungeons they'd plundered, recalling old battles, their victories, and blunders. When all of a sudden, beyond the light of their fire, an unusual noise rang out, from the west, by the mire. The monk grabbed his staff, and the fighter his sword, while the rogue hid in shadows, guarding their hoard. The wizard stepped forward and summoned a light, as they slowly advanced, preparing to fight. The tension was high, yet that seemed not to matter, as the group pressed ahead, to uncover the clatter. As quick as a light came a feeling of ease, calming their worries, right as you please. Into the light stepped a dwarf dressed in red, looked like pajamas, like he was ready for bed. "Santa's my name," he exclaimed with a smile, "Delivering gifts is my task, from the great Northern Isle." "I know you are weary, but your intentions are true, fighting orcs, demons, and goblins, and even a dragon or two." "Let us return to your camp, and sit by the fire, and I'll tell you a story to fuel your desire." Around the fire they sat, listening with glee, as Santa told them a tale, pausing only to sneeze. From his pack he withdrew a magical bag, a dimensional pocket made out of shag. To the cleric he went first, pious and pure, and gave him a shield, with the power to cure. The fighter came next, battle-scarred and world-weary, was gifted a sword with the power to be cheery. To the wizard he said, "Madam Wizard, for you, I have a new spellbook, gold leaf pages, trimmed in blue." For the monk he presented a staff made of ash, lightweight but sturdy, and well-made to bash. To everyone present, he smiled and grinned bright, and said "Merry Wintermas to All, and to All a good night!"
The rogue snuck up behind Santa, and critically backstabbed him, killing him instantly, and took all the gold from his backpack.
The end.
