#1 thewok Aug 20, 2014 19:58:14	Got them all opened and counted. If people are interested in seeing how it came out, I can post the numbers. I need to ecount, though, as my document seems to be missing a couple of figures. I should have 128 noted, and I only have 126 down.   I would note that I got two Bronze Dragons, and they were both the second Large in double-Large packs. They also were the only figures to come packaged that way. So, if you want a Bronze Dragon, grab the heaviest pack you can find (or, just order it).   Also, I got four invisibles out of the case, and they're all different figures.   edit: found my movanic deva angel.  I had counted it as a second aarakocra.  Still only 126 minis, though.  I'll have to recount them by hand later.

#3 thewok Aug 20, 2014 22:40:48	Actually, they look better in person than any of the pictures I've seen online.  They're roughly equivalent in quality to the Pathfinder minis, which makes sense.  The Large minis look incredible all around (incredible for pre-painted minis, anyway).  The Smalls and Mediums don't look quite as nice, but they still look good.  The Human Red Wizard even has his bald head tattooed.  Nevermind the blue-tinted pics you may have seen before--the orcs are grey-skinned.   I tried to get some shots, but there's really no place in the house that's conducive to taking good photos.

#5 thewok Aug 21, 2014 9:02:08	There are technically 51 minis in the set:   * 1-44 are in boosters, * 45 is the Ancient Brass Dragon incentive promo, * 46-51 are the starter set minis.   The booster minis are numbered XX/45, while the starter minis start at 46/51 and finish it up. It's weird that they did that.   To answer the question, though, yes; I got at least one of each.  Gettiing the full case let me also pick up the brass dragon (which is very nice).  However, it's not quite a "full set."   There are also invisible minis packed in.  I've seen eight mentioned on other pages: #1 (Rock Gnome Female Wizard), #2 (Stoutheart Halfling Female Bard), and one for each of the starter set minis.  I got the bard, the gnome, and the sun elf wizard and gold dwarf cleric from the starter set.  Someone at EN World who owns a store and also opened up a case said he noticed that each booster brick included one and only one invisible figure.
#6 MrHotter Aug 21, 2014 9:47:29	I would hate to get invisible minis in a booster. Especially if I did not have the regular one.    As far as getting pictures of minis, you may want to try using natural light. If you put them on a white surface and have another white surface on the side to reflect the sunlight onto the shadowy side it should make for a good detail shot.  If the direct sun is too bright you can use a thin piece of paper to shade the minis. Of course at that point you probably need another set of hands to hold stuff.   I do food shots for restaurant reviews and I just bring a diffuser to block the harsh light and a silver (or white) reflector to remove shadows. If it's cloudy outside I don't need the diffuser.

#8 thewok Aug 21, 2014 10:33:30	Rock Gnome Female Wizard Stoutheart Halfling Female Bard Human Paladin Sun Elf Guard * Human Zhentarim Bandit * Human Female Barbarian Wood Elf Druid Human Red Wizard * Human Cult of the Dragon Enforcer * Drizzt Do'Urden Gold Dwarf Female Cleric Human Female Ranger Lightfoot halfling Rogue Northlands Fighter Sun Elf Female Wizard   That's the list of minis that are adventurers or can be co-opted into adventurers in a typical game (including the starter set).  There are a couple of others you could use, if you're in a game that would allow kobolds, goblins, orcs, bugbears or half-dragons.   Females are noted; males are not.  So, that makes six female minis and nine male minis.  However, take out the ones that are obviously meant to be foes to the adventurers or NPCs (marked with an asterisk), and females come out on top at six to five.  Take out Drizzt and it goes to 6:4.

The posts are ridiculous to work with, my Deva post broke when trying to instert. There are a lot of small miniatures also, the Mane Demon, Svirfneblin and Goblin are pretty poor, quality-wise, the gnome is nice, as is the Quickling. The Orog should have been done as a large, it's very top-heavy and bigger than the large-based Ogre Mage. The Ogre Mage looks odd on it's base.   5. I love Giants, and these are decent. The Frost Giants have a flat, gray skin tone, just lighter than the Stone Giants, which is off-puting. Bendy weapons (is it an axe, or a bow?) are an issue as this plastic is not as supple as WotC's and prone to breakage in many cases. It's better than previous, but still not great.   6. They're more expensive than the WotC minis, though the quality really isn't any better.   7. The Case Incentive Brass is on a Gargantuan Base, but only the size of a Huge.   8. The Invisibles are fine, and from the starter set so you really have no excuse if you want a visible version of your invisible.   9. The bugbear is very cartoon-ish, the hobgoblin is pretty nice. The Pegasus is pretty nice, but not sure I need four (more) of them.   10. I'm guessing/hoping they'll release stat cards to use with the new minis game, though the spread wings will conflict for space as the larges are all the same height.
(Reply to #10) thewok	Fair enough.  Like I said before, my minis are pretty roughly equivalent in quality to the Pathfinder minis--paint and all.  They seem "brighter" than the older D&D minis, but the paint jobs are roughly equivalent.  My dragons all looked pretty good.  My silver had eyes, but they were a solid color.  Really, the mini that looked the worst to me was the Green Hag.   I found it better for me to put the post in the base to start and then put the post in the mini itself.  I agree, though, that they really love the flying posts.  Makes sense, considering the pieces will share models with the Attack Wing game.   I agree on the Orog.  It's a bit big for a Medium mini.  Of course, both it and its lesser orc cousin are a bit big for what they are.  The bugbear is actually one of my favorite pieces.  I just like it.  I might keep my extra giants, but the rest of the extra larges will probably go up on Ebay or something pretty soon.   Speaking of Attack Wing, I doubt they'll be releasing stat cards for the minis here.  They'll be rereleasing the minis as Attack Wing expansions with different bases and all the cards and tokens they'll need for play in that game.  That game (if it follows X-Wing's example) will include multiple, shorter posts that can be stacked so that units that extend over their bases can be put at varying heights if they need to be.

#13 thewok Aug 21, 2014 14:08:41	They're the same as the regular minis, but they're made of a clear plastic and left unpainted. So they serve as a stand in for your mini when you have invisibility.
