#1 warpiglet Jan 02, 2015 7:36:11	I was considering using cha as a dump stat for a multi class fighter paladin.  In short, I was wondering how much the low 0 or -1 modifier would matter particularly if I often use spells for smites.   On a related note, I was also wondering if the blow does radiant damage with the spell slot expended, would the attack be considered magical?   And in using a one trick pony build, how many spell slots can be expended in a round if u have multiple attacks (e.g. High level paladin has two melee attacks a round.  Can they use a spell slot for both?).     Thanks in advance for opinions!
#2 mellored Jan 02, 2015 8:24:32	Most paladin spells, and their smites, arn't affected by charisma.   The main issue is with aura of protection at 6, and channel divinity.  Though the vengence channel divinity is usable without Cha. Multi-attack also doesn't stack.   So i recommend Vengence Paladin 4 / fighter X.
(Reply to #2) warpiglet	[ Thanks for the feedback.  I was looking at making a tough fighter with a purpose but very rough around the edges and disillusioned.  I was thinking make him fighter three with improved crit.  Then, when possible would take pole arm master with the glance since they look evil.  I would be doing triple dmg on cries and would have three chance a round at 19-20 by fifth in paladin and 3 in fighter...or maybe 4.    I have three scores of 14 or better and two at 9 or 8.  I don't like dumb characters but want to be able to track etc, so thought "what if" on dumping charisma.  It would the character, and based on what u are saying would not impact the smiling too much.  I thought that was the case but almost could not believe it!  Thanks for the second set of eyes!   quote="mellored"] Most paladin spells, and their smites, arn't affected by charisma.   The main issue is with aura of protection at 6, and channel divinity.  Though the vengence channel divinity is usable without Cha. #4 Ganymede425 Jan 02, 2015 9:15:49	I'd advise against dumping Charisma for your multiclass Paladin. If you drop it below 13, you will no longer be able to multiclass into or out of Paladin.
#5 Horwath Jan 02, 2015 9:20:10	It's viable to a degree.   you'll have very little spells prepared, but you will burn most of it on divine smite and vow on enmity does not rely on charisma. and aura of protection is minimum bonus of +1, so if you dont have 14 invested in charisma you can dump it to 8. your social aspect will suffer, but hey....
