Or is it completely empty except for spirits and force effects? What about the full-on Ethereal Plane? How does it differ from the Border? What's it like in there? |
| #2MechaPilotJul 19, 2014 20:56:52 | My understanding of the border ethereal is that you can see the "real world" though a haze, including both nature and fabricated things like structures, but that you aren't inhibited by them because you are intagible and able to pass through them. You will also be able to see any spirits that are preset because they will be in the border etheral with you.
An interesting element of that last sentence is what one considers to have a spirit. It's entirely possible that a spectral castle or ghost ship may be visible and tangible to those in the border ethereal while not being physically existent in the "real world." In a game setting with a Shinto-type religion you may even be able to see the spirits of mountains and lakes while in the border ethereal. |

| #4Brock_LandersJul 20, 2014 4:20:50 | The Border Ethereal is very close to the Prime, it is also where individual Dreamscapes lie, the Deep Ethereal is the birthplace of the Multiverse (the Astral being the grave) and where the Inner Planes lie, also where Demiplanes exist, which have the potential to become full planes. |
