It's simple: What spell would you like to cast in real life and why?

Just curious in what other players would think of.

My pick would be:

Mage Hand: Not too powerfull but still awesome to have!

PS: Remember to keep it clean!

Detect magic, while you suckers are controlling eather or making with the magic fingers, I'll be helping the scientiffic community figure out how magic works and turn it into a proper industry. Maybe I'll even get to help experiment on you guys.

Wish. Because that can replicate whatever spell I need.

If I was going to be lazy, I'd choose Wish. Otherwise I'd choose Shapechange or True Polymorph, no explanation needed.

Ooh, there's a few.... Locate object, prestidigitation, mend, teleport, heal, mage hand, create food and water.

I think I might go with Clone, for both immortality and wealth.

Mending.  Then open up a shop that repairs reverse-zipped zippers / torn clothing / broken tools.  Lifetime guaranteed employment.

Create Food and Water - plus the Colonel's secret recipe of 11 herbs and spices (or the functional equivalent).

Mage Hand and the Arcane Trickster's upgrade.  Too much fun and ways to handle light labor.

Prestidigitation plus a flower shop = never-wilted (until you take them home).

Mending: Open up a repair shop.

True Polymorph seems fun, I would open a themepark.. with dinosaurs.. and dragons.. giants.. it will rock the world of LARP

Maybe too serious an answer for this thread, but Mass Heal.  Fill a stadium, heal 700 people for 1 hit point each and as an added benefit cure them of all diseases, including blindness and deafness.

Charge a tiny, tiny fraction of what their medical expenses based on what they can afford

Disguise Self as Clark Gable / George Clooney / handsome hunk, then go out on date.  Let the woman start down the road to heartbreak.

How many spell slots do I have?

I'd probably go with something like Lesser Restoration. Split my time between curing billionaires of their incurable diseases for crazy amounts of money and doing charity work, so I feel good about myself.

There are so many really good options.

I think true polymorph is probably the winner, though:

  • Become a younger you, permanently. Repeat as necessary.
  • Become some brilliant doctor for a while. Use their statblock to solve a problem.
  • Become anything for a while. Use the new statblock to solve some problem relevant to the new form's abilities.
  • Transform other people, permanently or otherwise, into whatever they (or you) want.
  • Transform some mundane material into a mouse, make it permanent, then transform the mouse into another more valuable material.

Yeah... I'm going to be "that guy" and go for the obvious: invisibility. For exactly the reasons you're thinking.

Fly and invisibility were the two obvious ones that came to mind, but some have mentioned other juicy ones, and some of them have been hysterical, funny thread.

How do "saves" work in the real world?

Also, I cannot help but think spells like invisibility and charm person would invariably end up a bit pervy...

Enhance Ability.  [Generic blues riff plays] You see, I'm at an age where I know how to get things done.

Oh...it does what?  Well...still my choice.
