About background "Favored Soul". In my settings the favored souls are people with some demigod ancestor.

About powers and gameplay... warrior, or gladiator.

I can´t say it because never there was a playstation at my home.

Well, I think that he was a dual-wield martial character with divine powers. Kind like an extremely strong Ranger, but just divine, not primal.

However, he was pretty powerful. One of the most overpowered characters in video-games. Most probably is an overpowered NPC, because some DMs just like to have super-characters at their stories, and PCs don’t cooperate

Fighter or barbarian with multiple artifact level magic weapons.

The funniest dang thing about Kratos is that he's in the Soul Calibur universe

The funniest thing is that he dies in that universe. He is specifically killed and eaten by Lizardman

Kratos is a champion fighter. Extreme strenght, cant fail at a physical task, rocks you like a hurricane. Probably duel wield fighting style. Solider background, though possible with an alternate feature of Bad Reputation.

I don't know... I'm kinda leaning towards a Barbarian with a spiked chain (not that the 5e spiked chain has been released yet).

Barbarian (Berserker)/Fighter (Champion)/Paladin (Vengeance)

I would say Barbarian, if simply for the fact that he is defined by his rage and almost never wore any armour.
