Anybody know of a Store in Kansas City that is going to get hte PHB early?  I started calling stores with the Wizards Play Network, and they started saying no, they where not going to get it.  They have to be a premiere store.  I cannot filter for just premiere stores on the locator.  I just want to find a store with the early release of the PHB.  Any help would be appreciated.

I am not aware of a Premier store status. There are Premier Play events within the Wizards Play Network, but as far as I know, if a store is a WPN store then they are able to get and sell D&D releases early. If you want to pursue it, I would contact WotC Customer Service.

EDIT: Here is a LINK to the requirements for a WPN store (minus the regional requirements). Have a look around and there is also a customer service link.

Pulp Fiction games in Lee's Summit will be getting them early. I was just there yesterday and asked. You can call them and get your name on a list. They then will call you when the books are in. Hope this helps.

As I confirmed today there is two levels (at least) for WPN stores. There's teh basic WPN which gives access to things like the kits for D&D Encounters and probably priority stocking of WotC products, then there's an Advanced Priority (or something like that) rating which gets them early release direct from WotC rather than through their regular distributor.

Actually found out today when I decided I didn't want to wait for my pre-order through B&N and went to a local gaming store that I know normally gets WotC early release. He first looked through their distributor and saw the 19th release date. When I mentioned WPN he then realized/remembered they were the Advance Priority (or something like that, he was half talking to himself so what he said exactly wasn't clear) and that they'd have them on Friday. Also B&N is a WPN retailer but doesn't get early release which is what first made me suspect there were different types of WPN stores which was confirmed today.
