I presume this is the place to post about D&D products generally, miniatures in this case.

WotC and Wizkids need to get rid of this blind booster garbage. As a avid D&D fan, who has purchased all 5e products including 3x8 booster packs of miniatures. It's absolutely disheartening to spend so much money and have mostly double, triple and quadruple similar miniatures of say "Rock Gnome Female Wizard" or  "Stout heart female bard". Shops here in Australia do not provide a buyback service. In the US I see these particular miniatures get bought back for like 0.50c. When they cost $4 each, blind!

I would rather these miniatures go up slightly in price by a $1 or something for average sized minis and maybe $2 each for large miniatures, and the public get to purchase them solo as required, not blind.

On top of this, the quality of some of the paint jobs is poor to say the least.

Be good to hear your thoughts on the matter

Blind boosters allow for each booster to have a set price, and for the artificially raised price of one figure in the set to cover profit lost by artificially reducing the cost of another. If these weren't in blind boosters, some of the individual figures would cost more than a booster pack does now. If you dont like blind boosters, buy your minis in the secondary market. Just Google the name of the set along with the word "singles"

Aaron said it, blind boosters are not going to go away. If you don't want to play the hide and seek game, buy singles off the after market sellers and let them take the risk. But know this means you will pay for the "best" figures rather than find them yourself.

Every Tod mini I have bought on 2y market. Got some real good bargains. I have lots pc races from previous mini ranges  so just buy monsters. The blind booster seems to work for the companies so is here to stay.

I shop exclusively on second market, often times getting bags of commons (orcs, goblins, skeletons) for pennies.  Granted yes, that odd beholder or such costs more, but for me it enables me to get what I want.  What's better, is that the FLGS opens boxes and puts them out as singles.  The price of eBay does not alter the price of the figures on his shelf, as most (non-commons) sell for $2-3 bucks.
