Would you buy a Grongard's Collectors Edition?

We've been talking about the 5E art in a few threads and I'm generally a fan, but I do miss the old school style.

If Wizards put out a Grongard's edition of the 5E rule set; with B&W or grayscale pages (something that could include both B&W and color art without being too jarring) and filled it with classic D&D art pieces (only the best and most iconic), possibly sprinkled with new art done in an old school style, would you buy it?

I think I would.  Of course it would be an expensive collectors piece, but it would be so darn cool.

P.S.  I'm aware that this is never gonna happen.  Just a thought.

Not of the core rules, but if they released updated versions of old modules using the original style but new rules, I'd buy those in a heartbeat.

I would only buy a version of the book with the classic style of art if it had the far lower pricing that it should considering the difference in the costs of color printing - and even then, only if it were available no later than the same day as any color version.

It is more important to me to get the products as soon as possible than it is to save money, and my preference on art is not strong enough to be the only deciding factor between new style art or old style art.

I think we're 5-10 years away from Print on Demand making that an easy possibility.

Probably not.  I like the old school art but I have come to expect top notch, quality art from WotC.  So far, they haven't disappointed!

It says Tactical Studies Rules on it, that's a bannable offense.

Nope.

To me, the art is nice, but almost entirely unnecessary.  I'm happy to see a picture of an owlbear, or an orc, or a hill dwarf for more accurate in-game descriptions, but aside from that, I'd be happy with a plain black and white no art at all rulebook.   I don't buy rulebooks for the art in the least, and they have no bearing on my purchasing decisions.

I try to avoid Grongards. They have a hellish breath weapon.

I like new B&W art in retroclones and some of them are also using Elmore, Caldwell etc. Would buy a B?W bookmin a heart beat but probably not if it was just recycled TSR era art.

I'd buy a copy with the art replaced by classic B&W style art in heartbeat. I'd still want the regular version, so I'd just have 2 sets.

Well.... first they have to sell me on the rules. And they can't do that until at least august. If they can manage that, THEN I'll worry about the pretty pictures.
