But what about a multi-tier leveled fighting game based on this rule set? It has characters from the various IPs, such as Drizzt Do'Urden, Elminster, Volo, Strahd, etc... with their trademark items, powers, abilities, and of course, you can create your own character by choosing a race, class, equipping it and picking it's skills/feats. Of course the pre-loaded characters would be powerful and unique in their own was, as not to detract from them, but the created characters would give more options and a custom feel. And no, it wouldn't be like this Dungeons and Dragons fighting game, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iron_%26_Blood:_Warriors_of_Ravenloft
Imagine a concept like Smash Brothers or Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale, but instead of it requiring you to knock somebody off the stage or use a finisher, you would fight through the level with one left standing 2-6 players. Each character would have unique abilities based on races/class. Like a rogue could set up traps, lock doors, squeeze thorough tight spaces, etc... while a mage/cleric/druid could cast spells. Just picture Elminster facing off with Drizzt, and Elminster shoots a fireball at Drizzt, the flames coaning itself around him due to Drizzt being protected by Icing Death. And on the other side a rogue runs to a ship just off a dock, locking himself into the cabin while the fighter gives chase, swinging on a rope over to the ship's deck. The environments would be dynamic, background pieces could be interacted with, such as chandiliers, chairs to smash somebody with, tables to flip over and hide behind, doors and windows to jump in and out of and through, some buildings could burn down at enough a pace to have a cool fight scene in it but also give a sense of urgency.
There could also be a side-scrolling adventure side-game where you can go to level up your character and gain loot. Let me know what you think. |
